Nylas cliamed to have a understanding of how to navigate the gmail approval process for 3rd party apps looking to access user email data. Their sales team promised they would be able to do this for our company and they pressed for a contract.

Upon signing a contract and being directed to a technical person rather than a sales person it was immediately obvious the promises made by the sales team would not be able to be achieved. They had no solutions and were roughly at the same knowledge level of myself about how to whitelist a gmail extension with google. This was a bit shocking to me as they wrote a paper and claimed to be able to guide companies through the white listing process of a gmail extension that requires restrictive scope approval.

Upon attempting to cancel the contract a short time after, Nylas attempted to bill out an entire year based on a contract that did not stipulate those terms clearly.

The company decided to attempt to bill me a second time after losing an initial dispute with the bank. I am in the process of disputing it a second time with evidence backed by emails from the comapny expressing their inability to deliver the promises they claimed and service that they were never able to render.

I would avoid this company if you are seeking a solution to bypass gmail and their restrictive scope process as their sales team will promise a solution, but the reality is they do not have a solution beyond what you would do on your own as a company which is paying Google tens of thosands of dollars to perform security based checks. Any claim for free white listing on restrictive or sensative scopes can only be done a very narrow range inside of a company.
