On November 17, 2014 I purchased a Power inverter from O'Reillys in downtown long beach for $130 which came with a 2 year warranty. The Manager was great, he answered all my questions and said if it didn't work for me i could return it.

On November 28, 2014 I return to O'Reilly's because the power inverter would only power my car buffer for 5 min before draining my brand new battery. I could not find my receipt nor packaging but took it back with hopes that they could charge it back to my card. I spoke with an associate at O'Reilly's and he talk to Assistant Manager "Daniel" who told him he'd he couldn't do anything for me because I didn't the orignal packaging and receipt. They tried looking me up in the system but could find me for some odd reason. which I found to be peculiar because I spend close to $5000/ year at that same store because I'm a Wyotech automotive student and utilize the discounts afforded to students and veterans.

I left O'Reilly's went home and look in my fiancee's car fot the receipt and found it. I went back to O'Reilly's and spoke with assistant Manager Daniel and tried to get my refund and he said he could only give me store credit because I did not have the original packaging. I expressed my displeasure with his answer and asked why I couldn't receive a full refund and she said because it was store policy. I asked to see the policy which he would not provide. I told him I wanted to speak to his manager which he stated would be back to work on the following Monday. He said he would give me store credit and for me to come next week and speak to his manager Melvin, who could refund me if I found the original packaging.

I went home again and my fiance and I looked all over and found the original packaging in our storage unit. I went back to O'Reilly's with the original packaging and asked assistant Manager Daniel to cancel my store credit and issue me a full refund now that I had the receipt and the orginal packaging. Daniel told me that he could not cancel a store credit and issue a refund. When I asked why, he responded with it's store policy. My fiancee got angry and told Daniel she'd called the police if he continue to refuse to help us, to which he responded, "I don't care, do whatever you feel you need to do!"

My fiancee called the police because we felt we were being ripped off and taken advantage of. The police would not send a unit out because it was a civil matter and not a criminal matter. I told Daniel that he was being unreasonable and as a manager he should want to resolve the issue especially because he knows that I'm a loyal customer. i then told him that I would contact O'Reilly's Corporate office and complain to which he responded, "It doesn't matter to him, and that we might as well leave cause he's not going to help us!"

We contacted the managers numbers that were located on the door and left messages. I think it's a travesty the way inwhich a manger handle the situation and now I'm stuck with a $130 gift card to a store I do not want to patronize anymore because of how I've been treated as a loyal customer!! As a recently retired veteran who has fought in multiple wars for this country to come back and be treated in such a manner if horrific. I will contact all military associates and let them know how O'Reilly's Auto Part managers treat veterans!!!

Talked with O'Reillys District manager and Store Manager Melvin. Melvin and I discussed incident in depth, he recognized me a loyal customer and was shocked that this happened. They refunded me and because the resolution was expediate and professionally done I will continue to patronize O'Reilly's. One factor Melvin brought to my attention I didn't take into consideration pertaining to Daniel's behavior was the day the incident occurred was on Black Friday and it was a rough day. I understand that we are all human and fallible. I reiterated my intent was not to get Daniel fired but rather more training as it pertains to customer service issues.

You poor self entitled child. You fought the posted return policy and threw a temper tantrum when you didn't get your way. Be sure to include in your story to your old war buddies how much of a a** YOU were and how s***** YOU made some poor minimum wage employee feel. All because YOU couldn't be bothered to get off your rump and get it all together in the first place. Then you have the nerve to bring your veterans status in as if it's supposed to make a difference in that person keeping their job. They have to follow policy or lose their job. So I don't give a D*** how many years YOU served or how anyways YOU fought in, it makes no difference in the real world. The corporate overseers would have fired that person for doing what YOU wanted. Does that even register in that foot think bone head of yours? You are trying to play the victim when YOU are nothing more then a bully. When YOU didn't get your way you then go on the web and try and defame them and name the employee in some twisted view of personal justice. YOU sir, if you ever did serve disgrace whichever branch you served in. Where is that militaryvhonor and integrity? YOU can't bandy around YOUR vet status without first admitting that YOU are no better then any other citizen out there. YOUR behaviour in this situation has only shown us all why we should ignore those cries about how a veteran is treated. YOU acted no better then a spoiled petulant child and NOW expect sympathy due to your vet status? No sir! How about acting like someone who deserves sympathy. If you did  indeed fight for American citizens you then must realize YOUR failings before you place the blame on someone who's rights you supposedly fought for. That would be the honorable thing of a military man to do.
