I have filed this complaint with the BBB, not surprisingly this stealership carries a nice solid "F" rating from the BBB.
To begin with pages 4, 5, and 6 of the attached documents (documents which detail the warranty coverage) were NOT provided to me at the time of the sale. These documents WERE NOT mailed to me after the sale. The first time I have seen these three pages is now when I downloaded the package from the BBB that the dealer says was part of the documents I signed. I have a complete package of the documents I signed which I will load up to your site later.

I delivered a car in pristine condition 1100 miles to this dealer in Illinois. I left Pearland Texas on Saturday morning, 6/16/2006 at 12:15 AM after picking up my brother from Home Depot, his place of employment, and drove straight through to Oak Lawn Mazda. The "deal" that i had verbally agreed to on Friday 6/15/2012 was I would deliver my 2006 Mercedes E 320 with 43K miles in excellent condition in exchange for Oak Lawn Mazda's 2004 Mercedes S600 with 57K miles, also in excellent condition, and I would also pay a little over $1000.00 cash and receive a warranty that would cover the fuel pump that had gone out three times. My E320 had never been to the shop for any mechanical failures. My mother lives in Benson and my plan was to pick up the car and then spend the night visiting my mother, before driving back to Texas in time to go to work on Monday 6/18/2012. Enroute to the dealer I phoned the salesman to confirm that the car was still there and the deal was still as stated above. Scott informed that me a warranty was NOT part of the deal and that I would have to pay for that. I was already in Arkansas by the time this news was delivered. I asked Scott how much would a warranty cost for 1 year 12K miles that would cover the fuel pump replacement, I was quite clear about the fuel pump being a covered part being the minimum level od coverage that would be acceptable. Scott said he would call back in 5 minutes. After 30 minutes I called Scott back. He did not have an answer but would get it right away and call me back in 5 minutes. 30 minutes later after Scott HAD NOT called me back AGAIN I called him. Scott said the warranty would cost $1700. We negotiated the price and settled on $1100. Several times during this conversation I asked Scott, and he confirmed that the warranty would cover the fuel pump if it needed to be replaced. I arrived at the dealership at 5:45 PM 6/16/2012 and took their car for a test drive. The car was in poor to fair condition with the V12 badge on the drivers side broken, a large scuff to the rear rim on the rear wheel on the drivers side, a chipped glovebox release, a malfunction indicator for the tire pressure illuminated, and a section of the top of the rear bumper was painted in to fill a missing section. The paint filling in the defect on the bumper delaminated and blew away on the drive back to Texas. When I met the finance man he was having a birthday and we chatted about his process of immigrating to the USA and how he wound up at the dealership. When he presented me with the warranty paper to sign I asked him, while holding direct eye contact, if the fuel pump would be covered by the warranty if it were to fail. He said the coverage for the warranty was on the back of the contract I was signing. I turned it over and it was blank. I asked to see the coverage and instead of providing the document he assured me that the fuel pump would be covered. He said he would send me the coverage along with other documents when the title was transferred.
The general manager Rick mentions in his response that "WE SHOWED HIM THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF WARRANTIES THAT ARE AVAILABLE FOR THIS VEHICLE" and I chose this policy from a selection, that is a bald faced lie.
Rick also asserts "THE BUMPER TO BUMPER WAS TOO EXPENSIVE FOR HIS BUDGET, SO HE CHOSE THE LEAST EXPENSIVE ONE WHICH IS THE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY THAT COVERS ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION. NO ONE EVER TOLD HIM THAT THE FUEL PUMP WAS COVERED IN THE WARRANTY HE CHOSE." which is again a bald faced lie. I told Scott what kind of policy I would need and Scott and the finance manager both assured me with a verbal contract that the fuel pump was covered by the warranty they had selected.
Rick states "HE CALLED MORE THAN ONCE AND SPOKE WITH EVERY MANAGER AVAILABLE IN OUR ESTABLISHMENT AND WAS TOLD THE SAME THING REPEATEDLEY" and this time he is telling the truth. I spoke with everyone that I could trying to resolve this problem before taking it to the BBB, Ripoff.com, Fraudalert.com and every other outlet I can find to warn people of this dealers lying ways. Every single one of these people promised to call me back including the GM, Rick. No one from Oak Lawn Mazda ever returned a phone call after the sale. NO ONE.
Rick, the GM, asserts "HE DIDN'T WANT TO PAY THE DIFFERENCE AND DIDN'T LIKE OUR ANSWER" this is a bald faced lie. No one at the dealership ever told me the price of any alternate warranties available.
Rick asserts "THE WARRANTY HE HAS IS WHAT HE PAID FOR AND AGREED TO, AND WE SHOULD NOT BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR HIS DECISION. BY CHOOSING TO SAVE MONEY ON THE WARRANTY HE CHOSE TO COMPROMISE THE COVERAGE HE IS GETTING ON HIS VEHICLE" is a bald faced lie. The warranty that his salesman and his finance man represented I was purchasing would have covered the fuel pump, and there would have been no need to file this complaint.

Rick, the GM for Oak Lawn Mazda, asserts "THE WARRANTY HE CURRENTLY HAS WAS HIS CHOICE." which is a bald faced lie. The warranty I got on the vehicle is worthless and I have since sent official notice to the company providing the coverage to terminate the warranty and refund my money. I will put that money towards a Fidelity exclusionary warranty which will cover the entire vehicle with the exclusion of wiper blades, brake pads etc. This warranty is over $6000 for 3 year coverage. So as you can plainly see I was fully prepared to purchase a more expensive warranty to get the coverage I wanted, but I did not know that the warranty I purchased was a basic power train warranty which covered very little in the way of external engine parts. On Monday 6/18/2012 I called the warranty company to verify that coverage was in effect and to get a copy of the coverage. That is when I found out that Oak Lawn's employees had verbally entered into a contract to provide a warranty that covered the replacement of the fuel pump and had misrepresented the warranty, and had instead sold me a basic policy which DID NOT COVER THE FUEL PUMP AS I WAS ASSURED BY SEVERAL EMPLOYEES.
I will not rest until the entire civilized world has been warned to stay away from Oak Lawn Mazda.
They have earned a solid F rating with the BBB and a 1 out of 5 with every internet review site I found. I will do much more than give them a bad rating. I will make it my mission to eloquently educate and inform the entire world of their misleading and unprofessional practices. I will deliver only the facts, as they require no embellishment.
They picked the wrong guy to screw over this time.

Good luck in getting this dealer to man up and live up to what they say.

I had good luck in getting a dealership deliver on what they promised by posting to internet review sites.  dealerrater, yelp, google reviews, and here.  I would email the dealership GM in advance of posting to give them the opportunity to make it right before I posted.  It was a review on this site that finally got their attention.

I had driven 1100 miles straight through, that's 17 hours on the road. My mother is not in great health and in her late 70s, and I still had another hour drive to get to her house. I didn't want to keep her up too late so I was a bit rushed. I am not accustomed to having people look you in the eye and lie to you without flinching. I had no idea how accomplished this group was at lying. Yeah, I messed up, I trusted an individual that worked at a car dealership. What they count on is the victim to lick their wounds and suck up the abuse and go away quietly.

That simply is not going to happen this time.

They will rue the day they lied to me.

And yet you still bought it.

You drove 1100 miles, why not spend the extra 15 minutes to get a detailed explanation of the warranty?  Some powertrain warranties do cover the fuel pump, some do not.

You know how to tell a car salesman is lying to you?.........Their lips are moving

If the fuel pump is such a common problem on that car, I sure as hell would have made sure it was covered before I signed anything.
