Complaint Review: Oakwood Homes

we purchased a home from oakwood in october of 2002. we did a home/land deal.it is now april 2003 and we are still not in it. they informed us that the home would be in and set up on our land by november 15,2002. we gave notice at the home we are renting in newport news.we got lucky because noone wanted the home we rent right away so they let us stay until the end of april. well november came and went and it is now april 2003 and we still do not have our home on are land nor are they anywhere close to haveing it done.as of right now it is only cleard and done bad at that.

we here lies after lies from them. we have four boys and 3 dogs and in 2 weeks we will be homeless because we gave notice to our landlord and noone will let us rent month to month.we got a storage space for a month we thought what a joke so now it is 6 months of paying that and we are probably going to have to rent a hotel room and waste money there too.

we continually call them and they now will not return our calls.but they will call us when they need more money that we refuse to give them anymore. we gave them 13,400.00 of our hard earned money and now we go and look at our home on the lot for the last 6 months and there are so many problems with the home that we keep hearing that when it gets out to the land that they will fix.

the countertops are all warped and under the big countertop island the piece of waynescoating is cut very badly. we just cant believe that this is happening to us. we trusted them and this is what we got. the people that they got to do our land was a joke to. we wanted a teardrop driveway with trees in the middle and they cleared it all out.

we went to oakwood and told them and of course they say nothing at all or they pass the buck to someone else. stay away from oakwood if you can because if i could get out of this deal i would in a minute. it is one head ache after the next.
