Lots of rain lately, started noticing moldy spots in bath and kitchen. Called insurance to evaluate and was told tht 8 years ago, when oakwood installed the home, they removed nails holding the plastic but did not seal the holes nor did they seal around my skylights or roof jack, The holes took 8 yrars to show dammage on my ceiling and I can only guess at how mch mold and wood rot must be present in my ceiling. Insurance will not pay my claim and Oakwood is out of business and has no one to answer to. They have no valid pone nubers and a PO box only. They caused alot of danage ro my home and are no responible for any of it, How can that possible happen? Someone did the wromg thing and now I have to suffer the expense my self, Sombody should have to be resonsible of thse reapairs for danmage caused by an shorc

Lots of rain lately, started noticing wet, moldy spots on bath and kitchen ceilings. Called insurance to look at the leaks and was told that 8 years ago, when Oakwood installed the home, they removed nails holding the plastic but did not seal the holes nor did they seal around my skylights or roof jack. The small nail holes took 8 years to show damage on my ceilings and I can only guess at how much mold and wood rot must be in my ceiling. Insurance will not pay my claim and Oakwood is out of business. They have no valid phone numbers and a PO box only. They caused allot of damage to my home and don't have to repair any of it. The location that sold me the home in Tomball is gone. How can something like this even happen? I will have to pay out of my pocket for this damage and Clayton Homes, who bought Oakwood in 2004, claim they have nothing to do with any homes bought before that time. Who can I turn to for help?
