My home has several construction issues, including the doors, windows, and roof. I have had problems getting warranty work resolved.

My roof leaks, my front door has never been square, and the windows are so out of square, we can only open part of them and have to be very careful to do that because they are cracking and breaking due to the stress. My carpet has large bunches in it like it wasn't stretched out right and they never did complete the skirting. I did that myself!

It took them 2 1/2 months for their subcontractor to set the home and that is with me running and getting permits (so I lost time from work due to that) and making constant phone calls several times a day every day to get it done in that length of time. I would never recommend one of their homes to a "friend" of mine simply because of the way we were treated with their sales and service people. I had contacted their offices in NC to no avail. As far as they are concerned now, it is past warranty.

Sounds like your home needs to be re-leveled.

Many of the problems you describe (windows binding, door not square, bunched carpeting) sound like a house that was poorly leveled or has had a lot of settling. Most reputable dealers offer one free re-level. If your lot was newly dozed, the odds are higher that you have a leveling problem.

One way to check is to get a long (the longest you can find) level and run it along the floors along the entire length and width of your home. Do the same outside along the bottom edge of the home where the skirting attaches. If your bubble is "off" in several places, a re-level may resolve a lot of these problems. Contact your dealer and see if they can arrange this.
