OAN And AT&T Who is really scamming me? Nationwide
I had the same issue with many posters about charges showing up on my phone bill from OAN Services. After investigating online and finding all the other complaints. I also called OAN with the number provided on my AT&T bill. The person that answered the phone was courteous, even through my tirade of accusations. I was told that the charges will stop. (We'll have to wait and see).
I then felt it was my duty to contact AT&T and let them know of my displeasure of them allowing a known scam company to do such a thing. To my surprise I was told by the AT&T representative that they were required by law to let the charges go through. This after he even admitted to knowing about this company and their scams. He even mentioned a 20/20 special about them. Evening more surprising was his solution to the problem that he offered me. He said that if I upgrade to their AT&T U-verse package, that they could stop these charges from happening. I was shocked! He actually tried to up sale me to prevent these scams.
My question now is - Is AT&T working with these types of companies in order to up sale their products? The package I was offered to keep me relatively similar to what I have now with my current cable/internet provider was about $200 a month. Mind you my current bill from them is only about $30-$40 a month.
So, I ask, who is really scamming me here? OAN for sure, but AT&T isn't far behind.
BTW
I suggested a better deal, for me anyway. I suggested canceling my AT&T service to stop the scamming. For some reason they didn't like that deal!
