I had a terrible experience with Oasis. My sales representative (Ron Wolff) was very nice and helpful, as you would expect. However, the problems began on pickup.

I took off a half day in the afternoon so Oasis could come during their scheduled time (a date/time that was set up for weeks). However, I received a call saying they would be late and would show up at 4PM instead of 2PM. Then they called back and said 6PM. They they called back and said 8PM. Then they called back and said they would come the next morning (with no apparent regard for my schedule, as if I just sit at the house all day).

I took another half day off, expecting them in the morning. However, they didn't arrive until 11AM. The two movers that arrived (especially the foreman, Ouriel) were completely unprofessional. Firstly, the foreman took a look around and noted that it "looked like" my belongings were 600 pounds heavier than the 4100 lbs. than my sales representative came to after the sales rep meticulously went through every box and piece of furniture. This would increase the cost of the move by $500, and I had to sign that I agreed to it before they would start loading the truck.

The foreman would take breaks every 30 minutes that would last 15 minutes, and both would constantly take what sounded like personal calls. They used 25 rolls tape, which cost me an extra $87.50, even though most of the rolls were only half used. On top of that, they didn't bring the only thing I asked them to bring - mattress covers. They covered my two mattress sets with used blankets - very unsanitary!

I asked them to hurry up, since I had to go into work, but the foreman didn't seem to care - he let his associate do most of the work, including carrying a large couch all on his own and dragging it down the concrete stairs. I ended up having to call a friend over to watch them while I went into work.

They apparently sped up when I called my friend to say I was returning - in all, it took them over 5 hours to load my belongings in their truck. I lived in a 2-bedroom apartment, and everything was ready to move - they didn't have to pack anything themselves. Obviously, this was a nightmare to begin with.

I took two weeks off before work in my new location, and was told that they would arrive in that first week. I should have known better. They arrived two weeks late, which meant that I had to take yet another half day off for this company. The moving staff was at least more professional this time, and moved quickly, but then charged me an extra $170 for the distance they had to walk from the street to my front door. The distance was shorter than the distance from my previous apartment to the street. Of course, they expected this in cash before they got started.

In the end, this was a complete ripoff. I ended up paying more than $500 over the other reasonable moving quotes I received from more reputable moving companies, and this doesn't include all of the time off I had to take to accomodate their flakiness. I would have sued them, but then started reading reviews on websites like these and decided it wasn't worth my time.

A complete nightmare. One of the worst companies I have ever done business with, if not the worst.
