Oasis Moving & Storage Inc. Oasis Moving & Stoarge DO NOT EVER USE!! Las Vegas Nevada
Oh my god.... Where do I start. I was planning a move from California to Indiana. I schedualed my move back in January 2008, with a pick up date of May 2008. Before hiring Oasis, I did my research online. I found complaints, but many of them were old, before they had an owner change. I brought these up to Angela (my sales person), and she assured me that she had never known of these problems. She also told me that they have a "satisfaction guarantee". I figured that I couldn't beat their price, and authorized them to book the move, and also gave them my credit card number for the deposit. Then the living hell started.
I changed my pick up date to March 31st. But I did give I believe a months notice. It wasn't like a last minute decision. Guess what...no movers ever showed up on March 31st. Oh yeah, they called. And they wanted to show up at 10 pm to move our things. I told them no way, and explained that I live in a two story apartment complex and that I cannot do that to my neightbors. The guy got irritated and I told him to be at my apartment at 9 am April 1st. He showed up 45 minutes late. I had everything packed and ready to go. I had lost the lid to my christmas tree box and they told me that they would not be able to take it unless they repacked it in one of their boxes. I said sure go ahead.
When they got all done the foreman came up to me with a bill for $275.00. I freaked out and asked him what the hell was this? He told me that they had to use a box of tape (50.00) and a bunch of other boxes (225.00). I dont know what the hell they packed up, and I never gave them permission for that. JUST the one box I okay'd. Then the best part ever, they tried to raise my quote from $1400.00 to $2900.00 and the guy told me I should his estimate. I told him absolutely not, and to take my stuff to the scales and weigh it. He did not like my answer. Maybe he thought I was a dumb girl and didn't know my options.
Skip forward a week, and it turns out I was correct and the charges were reverted back to my original estimate. My fiance, who is in Indiana, asked them when he should expect delivery. Andrea (customer service), told him between a week and a week and half. He said cool and hung up. No delivery ever showed up.
So My fiance called on April 14th and spoke with Andrea again. This time she tells him that they do not know when it will go out. Maybe another month or so. I looked over the contract and saw that they have a "30 day delivery period". I told my fiance not to freak and then told him what I found. He called again the next Tuesday April 21st and spoke with Andrea again. She told him that it had been co-ordinated with a move but had not left yet. She also told him she would call with a delivery eta.
Okay... are you ready for this crap!!! My fiance calls me on Sunday April 27th and tells me that the movers are at our house. My fiance lost it on the driver and asked him why no one ever called either one of us. He said they did call us. They never did. And if they did try calling...they never left a message. So its Sunday and the banks are CLOSED!!! and my fiance has to come up with 590.00 or the driver is going to leave. Luckily cause we have the best new neighbors in the world, they gave him the cash he was short.
I know I am being long winded, but I want everyione to know what the dirt bags did to us. The driver (just 1) starts to unload our stuff...while he is on the cell phone. He almost dropped my solid oak entertainment center that I love more than anything. My fiance starts screaming at him. luckily all the damage he did to it was bust off all my caster wheels on the bottom. He then had the balls to ask my fiance to help him unload the truck!!!! My fiance, being worried about our property being broken helped him. I was furious when I found that out.
We also found out later on, that the driver walked right into our next door neighbors home and scared the hell out of her. He wanted to use the bathroom. Guess he didn't know how to knock on the door. This isn't Pakistan, you have to actually ask someone permission to enter their home.
After all is said and done, I have a broken 19" TV, Broken vacuum cleaner, broken glasses, broken vase, broken dvd/vcr combo, broken casters and the over all feeling of taking it up the a**.
I beg anyone who is considering using this company, not to. I wish I would have found something like this before I booked them. I have met several people who have now had the same kinda problems with them. It seems hte problems really started in early March 2008. If you have any questions about anything with the people, please let me know. I would love to help you avoid them.
