OB Sports CNL Lifestyle Properties Steals membership fee from golfers Scottsdale, Arizona
OB Sports recently took over management of the Raven at South Mountain golf course. The course owner, CNL Lifestyle Properties, decided to replace the existing course management firm. Within 2 days after OB took over, the members received a letter from OB Sports saying that their memberships were no longer valid.
These memberships were such that the members were asked to pay a large sum of money up front, and were given several years of unlimited golf. In my case, I paid a five-figure amount of money for 7 years of golf for my wife and I. This was a difficult decision for us as it was a lot of money to pay up front for future golf but we both liked the Raven golf course.
Basically, the up front monies paid by the members was pocketed and CNL does not intend to provide refunds or honer the contracts. OB Sports probably does not have the money but they are complicit in this large scale theft. They didn't actually go into the bank and rob it, but they are driving the getaway car.
The total amount of membership fees that have been collected possibly approached $1M. CNL and OB Sports are basically crooks and others should avoid their properties and golf courses.
