Complaint Review: O'Brien Contracting Ltd

This contractor is inscrupulous and not to be trusted. Stay away!

Specifically:

Manipulative change orders

Resisting calls for clarification of costs

Underestimate of fixture costs, calling 'mid-range' quality what is really low end quality

Unwillingness to reveal subcontractor costs in order to draw extra profit

Pushback against our desire to consider other subcontractors, so could maintain cozy relations with his own chums.

Illegitimate charges for hours he was not present

Multiple other violations of trust

We took to small claims and would likely have prevailed but ran out of time (moved homes and he had placed lien on home and our new home purchase would have fallen through, at great expense to us, had we waited for our time in small claims).
