We got behind on our payments because we lost our income stream. We tried to work something out with Ocwen because we had been making $2573.24 payments instead of $1174.00 payments for three years. Our balance was less than $50K on a $170K house. There was no help from Ocwen, only harrassment and stalling. We had to sell the house and got the deal done 1/2/02 except for a payoff amount from Ocwen.

Ocwen started sending foreclosure notices. I ignored them because all that was needed was a payoff amount. The house was posted for foreclosure with me talking to everybody at Ocwen except somebody to make a sane decision. The attorneys put the blame on Ocwen not responding. Ocwen blamed the attorneys and said they could not deal with us directly we had to talk to the attorneys.

We ended borrowing money from friends and paying $11K to keep the house from the action block on 3/18. We closed on the house without the payoff and here it is 4/6/02. Ocwen could have all their money and I could have mine if they weren't so RUDE and STUPID. They also ran up the cost to us by $6k for late fees and attorney costs.

Maybe at first they have helped you but from my experience it will not last long. I hope I am wrong for your sake but they eventually harassed me and so many others. It's just a matter of time before a class action suit will be filed. I really hope you don't have to be a part of that, but if you ever need help we are all out there.

Good luck, Jennifer

My home is financed with Ocwen and they have been exceptionally courteous to me. Whenever I call with a question or concern - my questions are answered and issues are addressed. On occasions, I have received the recorded message and I call them back and they look up my account and confirm that I am current. I was told that is a computerized messages that's set to go out on a certain date.

I have had no problems with Ocwen - I pay my mortgage within the 15 days and everything has been fine. When I was went beyond the 15 day grace period they asked me for the reason I was late - I explained and they accepted my explanation and did not threaten or harrass me in any way.

I receive a statement each month which shows my payments and also my pay-off balance.
