Three complaints: 1st, my house was remortgaged when I didn't want it done. The Ocwen employee came to my home while I was away and talked my husband into it, even though the house was solely in my name (it was paid for in full when I married this husband--a former husband had passed away 9 months before meeting this husband). Under lots of pressure, fraudulent information that my husband gave the Ocwen employee, I unwillingly signed.

The fraudulent information involved the paperwork saying that my husband was employed (he was not) and that I worked full time. I was a substitute teacher at the time working 2 to 4 days a week.

I realize I should have read all the print before signing, but I was under so much pressure and was told by the Ocwen person that it was just a lot of jibber that didn't mean much--so he simply told me what it said, of course leaving out some, mainly the parts containing my work, high interest rates, a 20-year loan (I would never go for more than 15 years), etc.

I should tell you that this husband took me to the cleaners by conning me into marrying him while I was still a recent widow and taking all the money from my bank account--and because of him I was considering bankruptcy when divorcing him.

While going through the divorce, a death in my family, a change in jobs, and considering bankruptcy, I got behind in payments. Ocwen phoned me at least once daily (both at work and home), and most calls involved them being very impatient and rude.

I decided not to file bankruptcy. However, I had to pay twice the amount of my overdue house payments in order to keep my home.

And 3rd, I have received no correspondence from Ocwen for about a year. I was sent a booklet with payment stubs in it, but that was all used up in November of 2002--I've requested another booklet, but have not received it as of yet.

I do not like Ocwen or how it runs its business. They are like leeches and are heartless, having no thought to "the customer is always right."
