Complaint Review: Ocwen Federal Bank FSB

On or about September 2000, Ocwen Federal Bank FSB assumed collection of my credit card. I was not notified by the credit card company nor by Ocwen. I was paying the credit card by a government allotment.

On or about Novemebr 2000, I finally received a notification from Ocwen stating that my account had been taken over by them for collection. The original account holder had not told me that I was delinquent in payment. Every month the payment was deducted from my account and sent to them.

I sent Ocwen a letter stating that I was not told that my account was delinquent. I also informed them that if my account was delinquent, where was the payments that I have been sending for the last year.

All of this occurred while I was staioned in Germany. Upon my return to the USA, I received a call from Ocwen. The person on the phone was rude, inconsiderate and very very unprofessional. He even made threats. I asked for his boss and was told to hold.

I was given another contact person to talk to who was more polite and customer oriented. However, the result was the same. There was no explaination of why my account was given to them and the balance had went up to $7,000.00.

In September 2002, Ocwen took two payment from my account using the same check number without my authorization. I am still waiting for the balance of what I owe. The last quote that I was given was that I could "pay off" the loan with $4,000.00.
