I too am in OCWEN's evil clutch. They haven't foreclosed on us yet, but I just had a huge dispute with them and now they are threatening me with legal action. It has happened in the past...you all know the story.

I receive email from a friend of mine who moderates a list he calls "Junkmail", however there is usually some really good stuff in it.

He recently sent me an email that contained information about a website that has an email form in it and it automatically sends that email to newspaper editors all across the country. Although, this isn't the purpose of the form (it's too actually endorse the President), I suggest that everyone who has been victimized by OCWEN to get an account with this website AND USE THIS FORM TO EMAIL THEIR OCWEN STORY to these editors.

Here is the email:

GOP Team Leader

I was just reading an article...

http://slate.msn.com/id/2077553/

....about http://www.gopteamleader.com . It's a web site that makes it easy for you to email letters to the editor of lots of newspapers. It's designed for Republican support, but anybody can use it to send anything. The default letter starts out with "When it comes to the economy, President Bush is demonstrating genuine leadership."

I tried it out. You can edit it, as I did. I put those four points above on Bush's economic stimulus package in my letter, and away it went.

This system really works. More than 50 newspapers have printed letters to the editor with the phrase "When it comes to the economy, President Bush is demonstrating genuine leadership," including the Financial Times, Boston Globe, and Fort Worth Star-Telegram. I just did a google search for the phrase and got 109 hits. I think that's funny!

When I signed up for gopteamleader, I used the email address zeb@edibob.com. It's a dummy address I use so I don't have to read their junk mail. They sent a verification email to that address, and I had forgotten the password to. So I got onto the edibob server here at my house to straighten things out. Then I noticed it was acting funny. I had the slammer virus!

I hadn't been worried about Slammer because I don't have any computers that run SQL server. But Windows Server 2003 apparently comes with it builtin, a surprise for me. My server had been sitting here spewing out viruses for who knows how long! At least it was easy to fix.

My alleged problem? My 'alleged' problem is the fact that my family will probably not have a home in the next month because of this fraudulent corporation!

And no, I am not stumping for Bush with this post either. I am sure that you can check out hundreds of websites and get emails for hundreds of editors; I just simply thought this would save a little time for the people who did wish to write a letter to several hundred editors to tell their story to the press. Simple as that!

The virus deal was just part of my friend's email to me, didn't have anything to do with the point, I just cut-n-pasted his text into this post

The author of the email (listed in the link) has nothing to do with this post at all; his opinions are his and not mine. I just received that email and after reading the section GOP Team Leader, I thought it would be a simple way for OCWEN victims to grab the attention of several newspaper editors.

Quite frankly, I have my own problems because of OCWEN and can't sleep at night because of them. I wasn't trying to anger you. I'm sorry.

Just what is your point Brian?

Your post makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. What does finding viruses on your harddrive have to do with the abuses these good people have had to endure at the hands of Ocwen? And what does the humor of conducting a search on a Republican Party astroturfing scam have to do with anything?

Are you truly intereted in exposing this fraud company to the media as you say you are or are you simply a FReeper conducting a membership drive for the Republicans in the guise of advocacy on behalf of Ocwen borrowers?

If the first point is the case, there are better ways to find contact information for the media than having to join a website that may conflict with one's political ideology and results in astroturfing every newspaper in the country. For example, anyone can get the e-mail address of a newspaper just by going to the newspaper's website.

If you are simply a FReeper stumping for Bush, you ought to feel ashamed of yourself for using these peoples' misery as a means of proselytizing for the Republicans. And from the lack of specifics and utter dismissiveness in your post regarding your alleged problem with Ocwen, I tend to think this might be the case. Additionally, as far as Bush's "leadership" in terms of the economy and corporate responsibility, I have my own opinion on that; however, this is not the proper forum to express it in and, even if it was, this website prohibits the use of profanity.

Finally, if you had bothered to read the articles you mentioned in your post, you would also know that newspapers are onto this GOP astroturfing scam and will no longer publish those form letters.
