Due to medical reasons in September,2001 I missed my house payment. In October of 2001 I contacted Ocwen to make up the one payment I was behind and the current month. Ocwen refused my payments and then I was told my make-up payment would be in the tune of $5,400.00. My house payments were only $950.00 a month and in reality should of only been $1900.00. On October 28, 2001 I recieved a Sheriff's Notice that stated Ocwen was going to sell my home.

I again contacted Ocwen to make arrangements to pay up the two months I was behind and was forwarded to Atty Brenda Velez. I was told by Atty Brenda Velez. That "oops" they had jumped the gun on the Sherriff's Notice and the Sherriff's letter was sent out early and that I was not in forberance at the time but I was now. November, 2001 I was charged $3600.00 to reinstate my loan and tacked on a $9500.00 in late and legal fees. My house payments are now in the tune of $1448.00 and I have made my payments every month. The forberance agreement is over in September,2002.

In June of 2002 my payment was made and cashed on June 7, and on June 20th my house payment was returned to my bank. I contacted Ocwen and asked why they returned my payment? The operator told me that they did not show recieving the payment. I told the operator I would be sending in my payment again and that I had proof that Ocwen had cashed the check and then returned it to my account and I would not be paying any late fees for their mistakes. Since then I have been getting threatening letters and a request for financial information. I filled out the financial information and return it to Ocwen but on July 30, 2002 I recieved another threatening letter requesting financial information.

Also when I made the Loan in 1998, I was told the my mortgage was assumable and Ocwen would be paying for my insurance out of the escrow. When the insurance defaulted from lack of payment from Ocwen, Ocwen tacked on their insurance and the cost was 10 fold. I also contacted the "Assumption Department" to request assumption papers and this was six months ago and to date I have received nothing. I truely believe Ocwen is trying to put me back into foreberance so that they can sell my home for their financial gain.

when you send in the info about your insurance, scan a copy of the deck sheet (that's the insurance info), send it to Ocwen as an "attachment" via email. That way, when they "open" the email, they have the verification. Now, this is what I do with everything, the financial info, homeowners insurance, etc. ANYTHING!

Good luck!

How pathetic that Ocwen would try to pull such a thing. After only one month behind they CANNOT deny your payment and start foreclosure. I'm sorry but they CAN NOT do that.

It sounds to me like they are trying to push you into a foreclosure (there is a legal term and I can't recall what it is) for that but it's not legal. We have dealt with Ocwen so much in the past.

I have done my research on the legal part of it all and what they seem to be doing to all these people is illegal. I'm just wondering why it is that our lawmakers either don't have the "time" to help or investigate this.

Maybe it could be that Ocwen supports their political campaigns? I just don't know. And I am hoping someone out there can do something to stop this criminal crap.

We had attorney fees tacked on and insurance we ALREADY had and when I questioned them the attorney had no answer as to what all the fees were for. He said other fees. Ok...what the heck is "OTHER" fees then? No answer from him. Our attorney contacted him. No answer. And don't expect Ocwen to return a call unless you are one day late on your payment.

Good luck. And be persistent with them and let them know you mean business! After all....it's your home at risk here.
