On 10?15/02 I recieved a letter from Ocwen telling me that they were missing my payment for September which I mailed on the 13th and should have already come through the bank and then they were suppose to be missing my payment for October, which has been through my Bank on the 18th of this month, they are trying to collect two payments at one time. I've been paying 34 dollars extra towards my principal each month in order to try to pay my loan off in just a year and a half.

I find it odd that so many people have the same exact problem with the Sept/Oct pmts being messed up. My husband and I went through this in 2001 and an alleged "foreclosure" was started as a result of the missing payments.

In February of this year, we went looking to refinance, and found our credit to be messed up by Ocwen. They reported us "1 time 60 days late." That was the Sept/Oct pmt.

It was my contention then, that Ocwen held our pmts back so that they could get more money out of us with a foreclosure. They did. At any rate, it took us from February of this year, until August 18th to get the credit report corrected, and mind you, Ocwen did not so much as lift a finger to help us with it.

One of their supervisors Mariah, even had the nerve to say to me, that even though the problem was on their end, and was reported incorrectly by them, that if she had to go in to "fix" it, she was going to make it worse!. It turned out ok though, I got the thing fixed myself, and on August 31st of this year, we were DONE with Ocwen.

We have joined in the class action lawsuit, and look forward to seeing the outcome. We saved and created an extensive paper trail. If you actually put your complaints on paper and send them to Ocwen, you will be amazed at the responses. Plus you will have created a paper trail.

We are so happy to be out from under them, and we warn anyone we know about them. Good Luck!

Sending extra money to Ocwen

#3Consumer Suggestion

Jonathan,

In my opinion, sending extra payments to Ocwen is too risky. They might not credit it at all and if they do it, they might not do it properly. They have problems posting normal payments and giving credit for them!

I also got the Ocwen misery on my shoulders. I have been dealing with them since May and these last months feel like decades. At the beginning I wanted to make extra payments to the principal; but I changed my mind when I realized I was dealing with criminals.

The goal is JUSTICE (compensation, restitution, and things like that for the many of us according to whatever we are being forced to take from them ...and JAIL TIME for all those thieves and abusers) In the meantime, if you try to refinance you will have to cope with a lot of fees and hard times.

They like you to be in a bad financial situation in ordet to victimize you. Just make your monthly payments on time and fight as an animal to get them posted, keep an eye on your credit reports and put those extra dollars in a Saving Account to protect yourself against Ocwen's sudden and vile attacks. (I pay them on time and just the minimum) Money is power, freedom, etc.

Do not give them your hard earned extra dollars! Keep them on your side in this time of uncertainty!

Good Luck.
