I am currently investigating claims of real estate fraud for a mentally disabled woman in California. This woman's home was foreclosed by OCWEN Federal Bank under questionable terms while her $140,000 home equity disappeared.

Your posted comments are very helpful and in most cases mirror the situation I am working on. I encourage all of you to continue to post your experience and report the predatory lending practices of OCWEN to relevant authorities.

I have noticed that some of you have filed complaints with the Office of Thrift Supervison and the Treasury department. You should know that both these regulatory institutions can be easily described as 'pro-business' and, therefore, have no real interest in protecting consumer rights.

I WOULD highly suggest that you contact your state's attorney office and file a complain with the Consumer Law Section. In general, focus your energies on telling your stories of abuse to groups/institutions that protect consumer rights.

I am also aware of an attorney that is evaluating the business practices of OCWEN and considering filing a class action suit.

I will keep you all informed of developments. In the meantime, I truly feel for your difficult and unfair experience with OCWEN and encourage you to keep fighting for justice. All the best, Maryna

Class Action Law Suit

#2Consumer Suggestion

Tue, February 26, 2002

I would very much like to be notified of anyone doing a class action law suit against this horrible company Ocwen, who is destroying so many people's lives, credit, and taking their home, adding stress, and we are definitely one of those people. PLEASE, please, please, let me know of any updates or of any class action lawsuits as we have been fighting for our rights and our home for almost a year with this company. Thanks.
