On May 1, 2007 I sent OCWEN an additional $502.00 to bring my escrow account current. When the payment was received all additional funds were applied to principal. I contacted OCWEN and told them about the mistake. At that point they took my entire payment of $2K+ and applied all of it to Escrow thus putting me in default on my loan payment. I was then sent a notice that I needed to send them $3K+ in order to bring my account current and I was charged late fees. I again contacted OCWEN and told them of their mistake. It was at this point I was told that as a one time courtesy they would reverse the late fee even though they had deposited my money on the 1st of the month. My additional $500 has since been lost and applied to neither escrow or principal. In addition to the additional funds I sent they also were provided information that my homeowners insurance was $485.00 less per year than what they were holding funds for. I've just received another escrow analysis and my payment has been increased by $85.00 a month even though it should be less than what it originally was.

I have made numerous phone calls, spending hours on the phone and for the life of me I can not be put in touch with someone who is located within the United States. This company must outsource because I can not understand a single thing being said. I did not sign a loan with this company. I refinanced in November 2006 and my loan has been sold three times since then. I want away from this company immediatly and do not know if I have any rights. Am I stuck paying extra money that is not justly do? Companies like this should not be allowed to do this to people.

Call and tell them you only want to speak to someone in the United States. I was told its their policy to comply. They did it for me. It's interesting that most of Ocwen's employees are in India and their job is to collect on mortgages. I guess its good for business to put Americans out of work so they can't pay their mortgage. I pay my bills and when I call the company who holds or handles my loan I want to speak to an American. At least this way I know that part of their salary is going to social security unlike India.
