I originally had my mortgage through Aegis, and one day it was sold to Ocwen. I was given an address to mail the payments to. The address was to a lockbox that Ocwen claimed they no longer used, and required me to put a stop payment on the check and re-issue the payment to a new address. They tacked on a ridiculous late fee, and required me to provide proof of the original payment in order to waive the late fee. I lost my job in June of 2006 and called Ocwen to set up a payment plan. The refused to assist me and contacted my home several times a day wanting to know when I would make a payment, when I had already tried to set up a payment plan.

In January of this year I got caught up on what I calculated on owing Ocwen, however they sent me an intent to foreclose stating that I owed them over 1800.00 in late fees, attorney fees and charges for certified letters. They gave me instructions on how to make the payment. They told me I had to use certified funds. I made the payment and it was refused because I did not follow instructions. It seems that the certified funds should have been sent overnite, not to the address I mailed them to.

At this time Ocwen states I owe 2400.00 for three months of payments that I am behind. They came to my home and placed an eerie brown envelope on my front door with a notice stating to call "Mortgage CO". I called the number listed and keep getting the run around stating the department I need to speak with is closed, but I have called during the hours I was instructed. On the first of this month I sent a payment of 700.00 and Ocwen refused the payment. I just found out today from my bank. I am at wits end. I have tried to resolve this issue with them with no resolve. Due to the reporting to the credit agency of my forebearance I can't get refinanced so I am facing loosing my home.

To add insult to injury, Ocwen sent me a letter stating the interest rate on my loan will change in September, they could not provide information on what the rate would be or how they would calculate the rate. But did state they would give me 30 days before the new payment would be made.
