To preface, I am a recently laid-off employee of OCWEN(thanks to India---not). I will be honest and say that it is a terrible place to work, however the people in the trenches are good people and try hard(probably of no comfort to someone we are foreclosing on).

A quick history. A few years back Ocwen recruited Moss Codilis to insulate them from lawsuits. Ocwen charges 95 dollars to a delinquent account every time a demand is sent(and obviously they like to send as many as possible). For this service, Moss gets a split(I believe $50)on each letter. If they send 1000 a day(which is common), well that's aprox $1 million a month.

Recently, someone at OCWEN discovered this negative cash flow, and recommended that OCWEN set up their own law firm. That way they could sever ties with Moss Codilis(whom obviously have worn out their welcome), and print the letters themselves. Not only that, they plan on soliciting other lenders to provide this service.

In other words, they plan on competing with Moss Codilis. The one sticking point is that Moss has control of images of everything they sent in the last couple years. I'd say the cost of a copy of those images(for OCWEN)will go up as soon as Moss Codilis hears about the pull out. Because of OCWEN's recent transition to India(they employ more in India than USA)I feel it is my responsibility to provide this information so that Moss Codilis can shelter themselves from this anti-American corporation.

#2Consumer Suggestion

Thu, June 05, 2003

Dear Laid-Off Ocwen Employee:

While your post above relates some interesting insights about how Ocwen and Moss Codilis have conspired over the years to rip-off we the borrowers by Ocwen churning out demand letters in Moss Codilis name, and while you report that Ocwen as decided to sever ties with Moss Codilis based solely on greed considerations, WHY ON GOD'S GREEN EARTH WOULD YOU WISH TO USE THIS FORUM TO ALERT MOSS CODILIS? Surely, Moss Codilis has better things to do than read this forum, which is for exposing compnaies which are ripping off people.

Moss Codilis, having made the millions of dollars you estimate they have made each month under this shameful scheme, surely KNOWS ahead of schedule whether they are being kicked in the groin by Ocwen. Has Moss Codilis done anything like offer you a new position for you to want to undertake the responsibility of providng disnformmation so that Moss Codilis can shelter itself from Ocwen (whom you describe as an anti-American corporation)?

In case you have been in the dark: without Moss Codilis, this cheating of consumers by Ocwen could probably not have occured. Moss Codilis is being sued left and right these days, along with Ocwen, and trust you me, the Moss Codilis rank and file workers themselves continue to rattle on Moss Codilis.

This split between Ocwen and Moss Codilis that you report is as much breaking news as the news that Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Prestly have split up, or that Bin Laden and the Taliban are teamed up in Afghanistan. STALE, STALE, STALE.

If you really want to help cheated consumers here, I have a suggestion to offer: share what deep, dark secrets you learned (prior to being allegedly fired) with your local or federal law enforcement agents and lawyers for the victims.
