Odessa Washam Odessa Washam Kennels Horrid Conditions At a Puppy Mill Baxley Georgia
I spoke several times on phone to Odessa Washam about a pekingese puppy. I found her on a website called puppyfind. I was so excited. I got there and could smell the stinch before I even got into what she called the puppy room. I went in and she presented me with the puppy which I will say was beautiful. I hated to contribute to a puppy mill but could not stand to leave her either . I could not save them all but I could save one. I was horrified at the conditions these dogs were living in and that the town, county, state or someone had not come in and shut her down. I took the puppy to a vet and she had one of the worstcases of ear mites the vet had seen in a puppy that age. Ear mites are contagious and I also had to treat my other dogs even though she was only around them for one day before the vet saw her just to be precautious.
I saw so many puppies of so many different breeds, in small cages. Overcrowded and with urine and feces everywhere. I had to wash my puppy three times to get the stench off of her. These poor dogs and puppies. Ms. Washam had a big barn out back, I did not go in there, I could smell it from the yard and could hear dogs barking. My stepson whom is 13 was with me and was very disturbed when we left. He has since had nightmares. I myself have had dreams of the puppies there and the fact I could not save them.
I reported the abuse to the State of Georgia. I have called the person over the county there 4 times with no return call. I am so saddened that the state has allowed this to go on. The town, the county, NOONE CARES THERE that has any authority. I think they are overwhelmed with it, as I was. Someone needs to save these animals.
Well she now knows I reported her. I was driving and my phone rang I did not answer but pulled over and called it back. It was Odessa Washam and she was mad. She cussed me out, I hung up on her. I then listened to the message she had left and she was cussing me then too. I have it saved for anyone to listen to. She has sent me an email threatening me with slander. I talked to an attorney and it is slander when it is lies. I am telling what I saw and what I smelled that day and it is the truth and the whole truth.

I only have the one account Ms. Odessa. Which that is neither here nor there. As far as the friend I was talking about it was not Cathy Turner Godfrey the owner of Nana's Pekingnese Place. I only know her from talking to her about a puppy. I wanted a BLACK FEMALE which she did not have or I would have bought from her. I got my male from my fathers bloodline so I needed a new bloodline.
The date on my paperwork stated the puppy had the first shot at 21 days old, thats not 6 weeks. You signed this paperwork, is it possible you put the wrong date? This is not a contest, I just stated what I saw and smelled that day. As I had stated in my rebuttal I did say something on Facebook, a social media site, it is my page, my opinion, does that mean it is chisled in stone? I have not denied nor lied about anything. Also , my page is set to private so I do not know where you got this information nor do I care.
You have never once ask how the puppy is, how her ears are but you state how you love your babies so much that you breed. She is fine . Still being treated for ear mites and loves my other dogs. She has been to vet twice and sleeps with me at night and stays by my side as a companion during the day. I would not trade her for anything, thats not the problem. I was just concerned for the animals. Also, she has learned to drink from a bowl. I had to feed her water from a medicine dropper when she got here because she only knew how to drink from water bottle.

2014-01-16 I am Odessa Washam, and I don't have to hide my name from you or the public.
To begin with, I went through legal action in order to obtain your name. Nobody has greased anybody's hands. I comply to the state of Georgia's rules and regulations, and not Sharmon Lester Beasley. I'm sure that the state would not show me any partiality as I am only a number to them. NOW, as to the check, you called me and ask if I would hold THAT check for you, as you had mistakenly wrote it on an account that you had before you were married. SO BE IT.
I do hope that you have all of your records intact, as I SURE DO. I KEEP RECORDS ALSO. YOUR puppy was born on 10-7-2013, you picked her up on 12-21-2013, which would make her 10 weeks, 5 days old. She was weaned between 5-6 weeks, then had her first shot. I neve give shots to any puppies until they are weaned from the mama. I have only sent you 1 e-mail, then added to it once. I called you, which you didn't answer, and then you in turn called me. In the meantime you had ask that I accept a friend invite from you on facebook in which I accepted (copy).
As for your friend that lives here, Cathy Turner Godfrey, also known as nana's pekingese palace, she doesn't have enough businss of her own, that she has to take care of everybody else's. Why didn't you buy a pup from her, or get one from your stepmother?
This will be the last that you will be hearing from me, as it will all be in legal hands.

Yes I did send a check as a deposit for her to hold the puppy. I ask her if she wanted remainder of money which was 350.00 or or the whole 450.00. I told her to cash it when she got it if needed. She did not care and so I gave her total amount for dog. This is all the rebuttal she has? The fact my dog had earmites so bad. How are the puppys ears? Also something that has not been said is my dog had her first shot at 21 days old and no more shots after? My vet said it does not hurt the dog but its costumary to start shots at 6 weeks. My puppy which I was told was 7 weeks just happened to be 10 weeks when I got her. I could not leave her. I hope and pray the animals there are in better conditions since some things have been said about the enviroment these animals were living in.
I did ask whose hands were being greased for these puppies and dogs to be allowed to live like this. The smell cannot be healthy for the dogs or any humans who have to be there. I have nothing to hide I have all of my paperwork, emails, nasty messages that were left for me. Also, I know it is hearsay but someone who lives there in that town told me they have not shut her down because the do not know where to put all the dogs and it out of there jurisdiction. This isn't about me or anyone else this is about the animals. My Father had a kennel before his death and my step-mother still has it, I guess I just assumed everyone treated there breeding adult and puppies better. I just thought it was agianst the law to keep animals in overcrowded little cages, filth , and feces. I guess I was wrong.

I am Odessa Washam, and I am extending an open invitation to anyone that would like to come by and see how my puppies are treated. I have nothing to hide from anyone. I have been cleared by the state of Georgia for any wrongdoing, but Sharmonj Lester Beasley don't seem to understand that I abide by the rules and regulations of the state of Georgia, not hers. She failed to mention that she sent me a bogus check, and then called and asked if I would hold it until she came to get the puppy. She has even accused me of greasing the hands of the state of Georgia, which they now have a copy of, not only can this not happen, I am only a number with them, and I am quite sure that they would never do me any favors, but treated like anyone else
