Off Beat Services Inc. Off-Beat Services Inc. Failed to send magazine subscription, refund check sent SEVEN MONTHS later bounced Internet
I purchased a $35 magazine subscription on May 28, 2010 from a very persuasive salesman who gave me a sob story - turning his life around, needed "points" to prove he was doing this, I needed to buy a subscription to help him get his life on track.
In December, I realized I had not received the subscription. I called the company, and was told that if I wrote or emailed them they would send me a refund. I did so, and they mailed me a check for $35. When I deposited the check, it bounced, and we were charged another $10 by our bank!

After calling the company (and filing this complaint and one with the BBB) I received a call from the company saying they would send me a money order for the amount of the check plus the bounced check fee. To my surprise, a postal order arrived promptly the next week for the full amount promised.
