OFFICE DEPOT Ripoff Sold me KEMPER WARRANTY PLUS ($239)does not honor it Houma Louisiana

I purchased a Compaq Presario 2700 from Office Depot in Houma, Louisiana on 12-19-01. I was also talked into getting an extended two year Kemper warranty for $239.

I was told by the salesperson that if it gets dropped, smashed, etc. that it wouldn't be a problem for coverage. Of course, it has never been dropped or smashed. My contract phamplet also says "rest assured if your laptop fails, we'll be there to give you fast reliable, quality repairs-GUARANTEED. So, I call them (Kemper) today because Office Depot says they don't have a service dept. that I have to call Kemper CS. As soon as I call I get nothing but the run around.

They are telling me to download software and all kinds of crap to determine if it is a hardware problem. The problem is that CDs that play fine in a stereo will skip when I put them into my DVD drive. That is hardware. I don't know why they have to go through this "procedure"-probably because they are trying to say it is a software problem (they told me Windows Media-which I was using is the culprit) because the warranty only covers hardware problems.

THEY DON'T WANT TO PAY THE PIPER- THEY JUST WANTED THE MONEY. I WILL LET EVERYONE KNOW ABOUT THESE PEOPLE!!!!!! DON'T BUY FROM THESE RIPOFFS!!!!!!
