Officedepot Abuse Racism and unbelievably discriminating Las vegas Nevada

 Ive been an employee. At officedepot for 1year and 9months. In the past 2years ive had 6 managers i started off as a cashier and did thetransition. Into the ISCE program in the first year over 6 employees quit and my store was left with no CPD associate i took on the roll with one day of traning. And soon after that a new store manager was assigned to our store he had been given the manager position after only being with the company 2 years so hiring a manager with no experienced led to so many issues and has brought me to file this report. Since ive been in copy center i can say iam lucky if i even get a break i work 8 hour days and get my lunch an hour before i leave and if i say anything ied get the kinda answer let my floor crew go first i need them on the floor but ive beenworking since 8am some floor crew members wouldnt even come in till 10am lots of us got skiped on breaks.

Not only were breaks hard to come by coverage alone to even run to the bathroom wasnt easy the manager had to idea how to even work anything in copy center. Now we dont work in the best part of the city by anymeans but i can honestly say in the years ive been with the company weve had a handful of theft. My manager was so uncomfortably racist that i would have to take my radio off to keep my composure he would see people less fortunate in the clothing area and he would say things like watch them make sure u stay on them dont leave there side and then they would come up and pay cash over 100$ and yet letsomeone with a coach bag walk out with 500$ worth of ink ect.

What is even harder to belive is how courp thought it was a good idea to hire this man he harassed the tech guys about making more on a commission check using his management as a reason to abuse his seniority. This is stuff that i see and things ive experienced he lied to a customer and said he was another manager untill she came up to pay and asked who he was. Ive been cursed at things have been thrown at me due to his poor choice of words. We have a vary loyal customer base and we have lost so many of them he told a black man thathas been a customer for 4 years i see u boosting bootleg CD/ DVD guess ill see you on the news soon. Not knowing this man runs a legit photography company We have went to DM on him other store managers and the list goes on.

Their really is no stop to the discrimination we go threw i finally filed my 2 weeks notice on sept 2 and believe it or not he had to nerve to refuse my letter i spoke to my District Manager about him going aginst our code of ethics he said he would take care of it. The next day i came in the store manager was pissed i went to the DM and gave me a lecture infront of customers.i work in a very busy copy center and i hear praises from out customers on how well we handle ourselfs while were trated so poorly he has the nerve to tell us we need to do better with no recollection on how to use anything That isnt idiot proof he has said he has a open door to anyone with concerns but the next day every employee will know what your going through. If we are using up all our resources going up the latter and nothing has changed what kinda things are left to do.. after being refused of my transfer because he didnt like the store manager and filing my 2weeks notice and being denied that rite i quit i can no longer be treatedthis way. :(
