OffLeaseLaser David Stern Sent junk laser not as per agreement unwilling to refund Miami Florida
On June 29, 2015 I agreed to buy from OffLeaseLaser a Cynosure Apogee Elite, manufactured 2007 as it appears on their website http://www.cosmeticlasersonly.com/detail.php?id=11178, for $27,000.00
I got contacted by Carlos Heneao and we signed detailed agreement. Per agreement OffLeaseLaser was to deliver us 2007 Cynosure Apogee Elite in new condition, the heads have 0 pulses for both 755 (Alex) and 1064 (Yag) nm wavelengths, full set hand pieces, new fiber, water kit and eye protection and service warranty.
About 1 month later I received a very different laser with a very different condition and not the one that I agreed to buy. The laser system sent was from 2008 and in a very poor condition: the system was leaking water, lower unit was full of dust, DY filter was expired 11/14. The flash lamps were not new. The fiber was not new, but refurbished and had a crack on the connector and gave low transmission faults. Not only were the heads not new, but both had low power (voltage is high for fluence). The head pulses on Yag were 4876121 and the lamps were 4549623. The Alex head count was 1511277 and the lamps were 317148. One of 15 mm hand pieces was recognized as a 10 mm hand piece by the system and was unusable. Water kit and eye protection kit were missing.
The system obviously was not "just serviced" as per agreement.
After numerous requests for refund to OffLeaseLaser and Carlos Henao I filed complaints with Ripoff Report and BBB South Florida complaint 90313207. With the assistance from Ripoffreport.com, we finally received an answer from the owner of OffLeaseLaser, David Stern. He stated that refund is not an option since they have no funds but they would be happy to repair the laser system, bring it up to the specs and ship it back to us with no cost i.e as a part of their “service warranty”. David Stern wrote in his email that he is “200% behind his service warranty”.
About a month later we are now in receipt of the “fixed laser” and hereby we can state clearly that no repairs were done: the laser system shipped back in exactly the same condition as it was sent to repair. It appears that the system was not even opened since the lower unit is still dusty and with the same DY filter that was expired . We received back another( or maybe the same!) after-market fiber with a crack. The 10 mm hand piece that was sent to repair, never shipped back, water kit and eye protection never shipped to us.
After 6 months in works, we can say honestly that OffLeaseLaser is the biggest ripoff that we have encountered in our business history. They sent us a different system in poor condition and did not fulfill their service warranty to us. It was our mistake that we did not do our research on the company. We know now that OffLeaseLaser has at least 3 active judgements against it in State of Florida. If you google the name of owner David Stern ( a.k.a. Samuel Lehrer) the complaints of his unfair practices are countless.
We are in loss of $27,000.00, unhappy clients and 6 months of income from laser hair removal services due to OffLeaseLaser/ David Stern aka Sam Lehrer rippoff. We are still very actively pursuing this complaint with Florida Attorney General Consumer Affairs Complaints office, State of Colorado, City of Lafayette Police Department Case #15-2344, We will keep updating our complaint progress with South Florida BBB (complaint 90313207) as we progress. We have hired an attorney in Florida.
