Ohlson Packaging is misrepresenting the fact that the Combination Scales they sell are completely made in China by High Dream Intellectualized Scales from Foshan, China. Look at www.highdream.net and you will recognize these scales.
Same with the vertical form and seal machines they sell. These are supplied by Bohui Intelligent Machine. Look at www.bohuigd.com.
The ripoff is simply the fact that OHLSON do not divulge the fact that these machines are totally chinese. They act as though they manufacture themselves or has something to do with the design and manufacturing.
These machines do not meet UL standards and do not meet OSHA standards. The machines are totally metric, the wiring do not conform. The electrical wires are undersized, carrying to much current and get hot. Ask for a certifcate of compliance and you will find out.
Should an employee get injured or a machine catch fire, as has happened, your insurer may not accept the claim as the end user has a responsibility to buy machines that comply to standards.
To add insult to injury OHLSON mark up more than 400 % on these machines. You can typicaly buy a HIGH DREAM Scale for 10 to 15 thousand dollars and a Bohui bagger for 12 to 18 thousand. In the end you do not get what you pay for. A 15 thousand dollar chinese machine can never be as good as a 50,000 dollar american built machine.
OHLSON and there sales reps are laughing all the way to the bank. Do not get ripped-off by these people. Buy american made products instead!

Why is there no mention nor acknowledgement in the OHLSON REBUTTAL that the combination scales and vertical form and seal machines are in fact 100% imported from China. Why did they avoid responding to that statement that is in the RIP OFF Report?
Why is it that there is no mention on their quotations, advertising and website that these machines are 100% MADE in CHINA ? Why do most of their agents and distributors not know that OHLSON is importing these machines from China?
Is OHLSON purposely creating the impression these machines are made in America ?
What does OHLSON produce in America? Only linear scales, as they have been for 45 years. Nothing more.
Why don't they come clean on this fact and did not address this on their rebuttal.
OHLSON claim they have CE and UL certificates of compliance on there equipment. They may have on linear scales but they do not have UL stickers or certificates on the combination weighers, the vertical form and seal machines and infeed conveyors.
If you consider buying there equipment only because they are less expensive than American and European built machinery ask them to submit a certified written proof of UL compliance by a recognized company. End users need this to support any personal injury claim or insurance claim. Keep in mind OHLSON is a very, very small company and could easily get wiped out with a product liability or personal injury claim.
In todays world nothing is a secret. Simply use a software service like Panjiva or Datamyne and see for yourself that OHLSON imports these machines from High Dream Intellectualized Scales and Bohui. They can not deny this fact.
No matter what they say or rebutt, they are unethical by not advising upfront that these machines originate in China and that potential customers can buy these machines from other sources in America or buy direct from China for 20% of their selling price.
OHLSON have no ownership, no contract and no security with these chinese companies. They have no means to control their destiny and could not garantee in any way they can service and support these chinese made machines for any lenght of time.
Customers are not aware of the risk that one day HIGH DREAM and BOHUI will stop selling to OHLSON. These chinese companies can go bankrupt and disappear. The customer is not aware that one day they will no longer have parts or support for the machines they thought were made in U.S. or at least controlled by an American company.
If OHLSON truly want to make good, show good intent and proper ethics they will immediately make a change on quotes, brochures and website by adding " MADE in CHINA " on the combination scales, vertical form and seal machines as well as conveyors, hopper feeders and platforms that they promote and sell. If they do not it shows that they are engaging in misrepresenting what they offer and sell. It shows a complete lack of proper business ethics.
Ohlson Packaging, if you choose to submit a further rebuttal will you now address this MADE in CHINA issue and agree to add this to your sales materials as well as post a copy of the UL certificate specifically identifying the BOHUI vertical form and seal machines and HIGH DREAM scales that are private labelled for you in China. Do the right thing and advise your fellow american citizens that buy packaging machines of the truth.
