I placed an online order on July 12,2012. I received a confirmation that the order was received by Danielle Uttech (owner of Olde Homestead Peddlers). She does not take credit cards or PayPal online so you have to mail a check or money order. She sent me the total with shipping and a UPS tracking # and told me via email that the order would ship as soon as the check cleared. I checked my bank account and found that Miss Uttech had cashed the check on July 17,2012. I have the endorsed copy of the check. I went to UPS to see if the tracking # showed any activity and it does not show that a package has been picked up. I email her again and she told me it was being picked up on the 18th. I waited until the 20th of July and tried tracking the package again,no indication of any package having been sent. Now the emails go unanswered and I am out $100.14 for product that I have customers waiting for. I have ordered from Olde Homestead in the past and have always paid by PayPal and never had problems,now I find out she has been banned from PayPal for ripping off many people. So it seems she now convienetly has you send the checks/money orders to her and it's payday for her, with no regard for the merchandise you order. I asked other vendors about her and found out this is a regular practice with her. My problem is I sent a check and I have no options to retrieve my money it seems. I have notified her that if she had not responded to me or refunded my money by July24 I would seek other options,or at least report her. I have been in business for over 8 years and I would want to know about these types of theives so I could avoid this type of incident.I just want everyone to know about this,I think she should be forced to remove her website.

  I finally received my order and with some communications found out there were some issues with the order being picked up by UPS and other personal problems. Although as a business owner I know that you have to overcome obstacles when it come to your customers and get their product out to them regardless of the situation. I only wish there has been better more truthful communication from the start and this could have been avoided completely. I told the vendor I would not order again unless she implements a credit card acceptance program on her site and she has done this. I am all for second chances and I want to see everyone succeed in their business and hope this was a wake up call for this business and things will improve for the better. The complaint is not against the products,they are exceptional,she just needs better Customer Service.
