Beware of dealing with the Oldsmar Flea Market in Oldsmar, FL. This flea market is running a scam against persons who setup as dealers. When you rent a booth, you are told there will be a deposit. You pay this deposit (two months booth rental) along with the first month's rent. You are verbally told this is to cover any garbage left in the booth, or damage to the booth- so far, this is all okay. You are informed that this will be refunded when you vacate. However, when you get ready to vacate the  booth (leaving it in pristine condition,) and you take your paperwork back to the office to close everything out, a different story emerges! You are shown fine print in the rental agreement that says you have to give them 15 days notice to vacate. They then steal you two month's rent money!!! MANY dealers have been ripped off by these crooks. If you walk around the flea market, you will see dozens of empty booths. This is because of their notorious ripoffs of dealers. The word has spread! They are leaving left and right.

If you are looking for a flea market to setup in, please note that there are many other choices in the Tampa Bay area. NONE of which are crooks like Oldsmar Flea Market. BEWARE OF DEALING WITH THESE PEOPLE. They are unethical at best and have no concern for their dealers. It won't be long before this flea market goes out of business. I (for one) won't be back.

I urge you to not visit or shop at Oldsmar Flea Market for ANY REASON!

Yeah so maybe he didn't read the small print but really? What is wrong with people? The point here is: they are screwing people over. So for some reason you don't give two weeks notice you have to forfeit 2 MONTHS? Yeah like to see people on a month to month rental pay for four months when they don't give their landlord 30 days, instead of just the legal, one month. Wow the lack of well just anything amazes me. People just don't value money when it's made of plastic do they?

I was looking over the information regarding renting space at the Oldsmar Flea Market and looked up the rental pricing.  Then I noticed a Ripoff Report mentioning a complaint about their rental practices.  I read the complaint mentioning that the renter was never told about the 15 day notice to vacate and had to forfeit deposit.  It may be new, but I did read in the rental space information that a 15 day notice is required prior to vacating space.  So if it is new due to this complaint, thank you.  If it is not new, then it is advice to all of us to always read the fine print of any contract we sign.

If you would have listen when you signed up they state that you need to give a 15 notice in order to get your deposit back,

don't know how much clearer that could be.

So, you're saying you gave someone money and signed an Agreement without reading it, eh? You made your bed, now lie in it.

In order to avoid any confusion and not leave a situation feeling "scammed," always read anything you're signing, and always ask questions. ("Are there any conditions on receiving my deposit back?" would have been an obvious one in this case.)

It's no secret that a fool and his money are soon parted. The larger question is, how did they get together in the first place?
