I am on my second and LAST auto loan with Omni American Credit Union finacing a 2003 GMC Xcab Truck. Originally having been attracted to the company by their claim to take care of US Military Personel and a Rope-a-Dope Mission statment " Our mirad of products and services are designed to enhance financial needs while providing a high degree of quality and convenience". These people have got to be EX-Internal Revenue Service Agents which have definately taken the service out of customer service.

My soapbox goes like this. After fourteen years of marriage, I get served divorce papers and restraining orders and found myself with three bucks and my truck.I got a little behind but managed to get caught back up with Omni, as they were unwilling to help a guy out and move a pmt to the back of my note. I got over it.

Omni called State Farm on Monday March 14 to verify my new insurance policy and found out that I had a lapse in coverage and hit me with a Omni insurance policy to cover the lapse.

On WED March 16 I get a certified letter from Omni stating my payment has increased roughly $230.00 more per month until 10/02/2005 to cover the cost of this policy. "OUCH". But I got over it and acknowledged that this was my doing and hey what choice do I have. After work on Thursday March 17 while in a convience store buying a soft drink, My truck was repo'd by Omni American, left to walk the rest of the way home. To make matters worse, under the stress of the repo, I got sooooo pissed off which ended up as a disorderly conduct arrest by the local Police.

The next few days Omni would not discuss it with me. On Monday, March 21st I get two letters in the regular mail from Omni advising me that as of march 17 the collateral (My Truck) and all possesions contained therein have been repossessed.

The second letter stated that my truck was going to be sold at private sale on April 1. And if I want to discuss this it would cost me $25.00. However I was reassured that after the sale of my truck, a Asset Disposal Specialist would be in touch at no charge to discuss the remaining balance of my loan. Back to the Omni Mission statement" They have enhanced my financial needs but have failed to provide me with a high degree of quality and convenience.

If I had $25.00 to blow, I would like to ask Omni "What Happened?"

You "got a little behind in your truck payments". You let the insurance coverage lapse on the truck. You got arrested disorderly conduct. And you need to find out, What happened? I'll tell you what will happen. They'll sell your truck off for a whole lot less then you owe on it. Then they'll try and come after you for balance, thousands of dollars. Screw 'em. If they weren't willing to work with you before, you're not willing to work with them now. You're entitled to get your personal items back.
