Oncor Electric digital meter scam dallas, Texas
oncor electric is trying to rip me off!!!!
once they installed the new digital meter my electricity bill more than doubled.
i am fighting them through my service provider gexa. but they are charging me $33 to come out to test the new meter, simply because it is new.
my situation, 1700 sq. ft. house newly remodeled, double paned windows, new insulation, new furnace. i am a total power miser, i use surge protector strips which i turn off when the items are not in use. the ONLY things that stay plugged in are my energy star refrigerator & the internet router. i keep my thermostat at 65 degrees. i mostly hang my clothes to dry & wash dishes by hand. the hot water heater is tankless & i hardly ever turn on the tv.
my bill this month is $322!!!!
this is preposterous!!!!!
please respond if you are having similar trouble.
i live in dallas.

The problem is not Oncor but your service provider Gexa energy. I had them for a one year contract for a specific rate but kept passing addittional charges that were not part of the contract or rate I had agreed upon. Oncor basically does the meter reading for all the electric companies. Gexa is supposed to basically charge the meter reading on behalf of Oncor. I solved that problem by switching back to TXU and I am paying the rate that TXU quoted me and only $4 per month for the Oncor meter reading. Gexa is a rippoff. I live in Arlington
