One Step Realty - Owner Mike Anderson made us lose our house and are stealing money Grand Rapids Michigan
One Step Realty and its owner, Mike Anderson, are scam artists and are using people that are already in difficult situations and making it more difficult-impossible really!
Mark Early, one of One Step's employees, was to find a tenant for $1250/month for our house that we just spent thousands of dollars renovating until the market was better and we could sell it. He called and made a verbal agreement with me over the phone, saying he had tenants that could move in, but only could pay $1000/month. We still had to get some of our things out of the house, but they moved the tenants in w/ out telling us and charged us for repairs that my husband was going to do in order to get the tenants in. We asked to not have Section 8 tenants, and they moved them in-causing the rent per month to be less. Section 8 only would approve $825/month for the house. We had no idea that we would only be getting $725/month for rent until three months later when our first check arrived.
The rent checks were NEVER on time-the phone calls we made to get answers to any questions were rarely answered. Emails were not answered very often, and if they were, it was in a highly unprofessional tone.
We are still owed over $1500 from tenants that have since moved out-we'll most likely never receive it!
They have changed the locks on OUR house! These people don't care what they collect for rent, because no matter the amount, they still make their "base rate" for so-called managing the property of $100/month.
Channel 8 news, WOODTV, has done a story about Mike Anderson and One Step Realty (aired Feb 13th)-hopefully this ends this company's and this man's taking advantage of helpless people.
Please, make sure anyone that you know that may think of using this company runs the other way!
