They posed as Quicken Support. Convinced me (how stupid could I have been) that the version of Quicken I had was not compatible with Windows 10 - it actually was - and sold me a new versionn of Quicken for about $100 more than I could have bought it from Intuit.
I usually use a credit card for all online purchases, but I was so aggravated about the problems I was having that I barely noticed that they wanted an account and routing number for payment. I guess I felt like I was dealing with Intuit and whatever they wanted was okay. I have since closed the account and the software seems legit so the damage is $100 and my wounded ego for being such a fool and getting scammed.
