Complaint Review: One Travel

Ok where to start, not even sure. Lets start with something I would not have questioned until I had to because I believed it to be regulated which by the way IT IS NOT!  Anyway lets begin with the LOWEST FARE ticket price - for the future- contact the airlines directly!!!

SO THE ORIGINAL TICKETS WERE ACTUALLY 1348.80 not the 1434.70 I was charged. Not much but think about that in terms of hundreds of people.  Then of course they didnt send the itnerary which I only asked for because we became so alarmed due to our 5 MONTHS OF TRYING TO REACH THEM FOR ADDITIONAL CHARGES TO MY CARD!!!! Heres the deal, I contacted them in February (the 22nd) for a flight to Alaska IN SEPTEMBER with a layover in Seattle as we were going to see family up and back. I have to admit the return flight is partially my fault for not correcting immediately.  So 3 weeks after the flight is scheduled (March 16th) I have no income, none, Job is gone..unexpected and we had not paid for the excursion portion of the Alaska trip so we cancelled that which they (not One travel) were courteous about and we rescheduled the flight to get off in Seattle, which was a layover in the first place.  Well come to find out, my requested layovers were not available by them both ways only one, so they charged my card an additional 700.00 to not go all the way to Alaska. They said the fee was necessary for the arilines, so I tried for 5 months to get a hold of a manager, the owner, anyone except reservations. I have been on hold for hours, cooked dinners, spoke on another phone to other people, written college papers, etc..never answered the phone and no manager return call..NO ONCE.  We got scared and finally I spoke to Alaskan Airlines and United who still hold my bookings and I applied for a refund from both, neither of them know anything about this fee..or so they say. So this Complaint is against One Travel, Alaskan Airlines and United because this booking agent does buiness in my state and engages in price gouging. But I am positive this is the illegal and unethical practices of ONE TRAVEL that have caused this situation and my trusting nature, which predatory buinesses count on...do not believe these commercials or online promotions.  Airlines are not restricted in their fees, and these third party booking companies are trash.  THEY DONT SAVE YOU MONEY-IT COSTS MORE!!! GO TO A BOOKING AGENT OR BOOK YOUR FLIGHTS THROUGH THE AIRLINES...ITS CHEAPER AND SAFER.
