My daughter and I became distributors for Onesetprice in April of 2003. We went to Florida for training that the representative in Portland, OR promised that we would get to help us with our new business. We flew to Florida and we felt like we had found people that would help us if we needed it and the way they sold their whole idea of business appealed to us. It felt like a family business and that was what we were looking for. While in Orlando we toured the Corporate Office and we were told how they were planning on expanding and we met our coach and had many conversations with her. We felt like we had made the right decission buying into this franchise. We did our homework at the time about them,we checked for sites on ONESETPRICE on the internet and with our local BBB & Attorney General at that time there were no complains.

We left Orlando confident that we had the right business for us and we set up our home office. By the time we really got started we had nothing but trouble with our phonecards and we never recieved a dime in the supposed residuals that we were promised from our Lifetime renewable phonecards. Then they claimed that they were in the middle of a class action suit with Radiant. That's when we couldn't get in touch with anyone in Orlando. We were given phone numbers that no-one answered when we finally got a number it was no longer toll free, We never talked to a coach just the receptionist she would put us on hold but, we never were put through to a person. We received e-mails stating that they were sueing Radiant and that we should sign up too. We signed up for the class action suit had a few more e-mails and then we never heard from ONESETPRICE again.

We are now stuck with worthless phonecards and we have had to pay back money to some of the organizations that bought our cards for their fundraisers. We are so embarrassed over this we have felt like moving out of a community that we have lived for 20+ years because we told our school groups and local non-profits that they could use this product as a renewable fundraiser. These people are our neighbors and friends. Most understand that we were selling the product in good faith. We are horrified that we fell for these Scam artist.

the complaint is 300 pages and is being served as i type The atty handling this action in Martin Pedata

He is in no way behind my post. Paul, hind-sight is really useless now So, i spent a year finding out everything about these crooks.

I hope this helps! They have had there assets frozen by the ftc all corps/individuals

It is also my opinion the fbi and other gov agencies are on the case.

These matters take many moons to resolve. if possible.

And Paul, for the record, there were 2 atty's in my duped class. Tes, yhey bought the bridge too.
In fact on sold 30=60 thousand card to one outfit.
I am quite certain hell has a special place for people like bonnallie and cutler.

Peace with G-ds speed may justice be found along with all the money they stole.

I believe it is in the 100 million range

Maria, thanks for the explanation. Based on your writing skills, you seem to be pretty smart. I was wondering how someone like you gets taken.

Now, I see. It sounds almost like a well rehearsed magic show. A lot of flash and presentation. But in the end, they disappear with your money.

From your description, most reasonable people would never see the fraud coming. They obviously put a lot of time into a big show. That's called running a long con.

The price you paid even seems about right. You said 3000 cards with 100 minutes each. A 100 minute card is worth about $10. So, 3000 of them is worth $30,000. Plus, your other cards. And the supplies you received. It looks like they appeared to give you $40k in value.

Of course, the cards turned out to have no phone time. But, at the time, you didn't know that.

Plus, the disarming family atmosphere. Easy to see how they succeeded.

After reading your explanation a second time, one thing doesn't make sense. You said you sold cards for $10, right? The school kept $4 and you kept $4. That only leaves $2 to pay for 100 minutes of phone time. Well, the phone time costs more than $2 no matter what quantity you buy it in. Therefore, because there wasn't enough money being paid back into the phone lines themselves, the cards would probably end up worthless.

Along with the big, fancy show, plus the religious nonsense. I would have seen the con.

But that's me. I don't trust anyone or anything. I can easily see how 70% of the population would fall for something like that.

You mentioned wondering about why the business wasn't legitimate. My phone card price explanation shows you why. There is no way you can buy $2 worth of phone time and sell it for $10. A ten dollar card normally costs closer to $6 or $7. So, even if they wanted to be legitimate, the pricing and numbers were all wrong.

That's the only clue I can see from your explanation. You can't expect to buy something for $2 and sell it for $10. There's too big of a markup there. No real business could survive doing that.

You see, at $2 per card, onsetprice doesn't make any money. Basically, they claimed to help you set up a business and let you and the school keep all the profits, while onesetprice has to subsist on only 20% of the money. Plus, they have to pay for phone lines out of that $2!

From a business standpoint, there is no way they could possibly do that. Nobody would set you up in business, then sit back and let you keep the lion's share of the money.

That's how you realize this is a fraud. The pricing explanation simply doesn't make any sense.

You know, with a $50k loss to show for the deal, I'm surprised you don't hunt them down. They have plenty of money to take back. You could easily get back your 50, plus another 50 for all the trouble. I'm surprised that nobody has done that. The other site had pictures of them. They're old men. A young girl could get them where you need them. They'd be easy to take. Besides, the only one you want is the one with the money and bank accounts. The rest are expendable.

After all, it's not like these con artists made any friends in life. Nobody would really miss them. Plus, you'd get everything back that you started with. Something to think about.

You mentioned moving. I see no need. If you pay back everyone in your community, you will be the only one left to take a loss, so why should your neighborhood hold that against you?

You know the most ironic part of this whole scam? Legally, they are untouchable. You know it's fraud. I know it's fraud. But, legally, they could make a case that it was just a bad business venture.

WE WERE CONTACTED BY A PHONE CONVERSATION IT WAS LIKE A PHONE BROADCASTING AND IF YOU PICKED UP THE PHONE YOU TALKED TO A PERSON AND THEY WOULD ASK IF YOU HAD EVER BEEN INTERESTED IN A HOME BASED TYPE BUSINESS. MY DAUGHTER TALKED TO THEM AND SHE WANTED ME TO GO WITH HER. THEY PUT US INTO SMALL GROUPS AND THEY TALKED ABOUT THEIR BUSINESS AND THE TRAINING THEY GAVE TO THEIR DISTRIBUTORS AND HOW THEY WOULD ONLY HAVE A SET NUMBER OF DISTRIBUTORS IN AN AREA.

WE WERE PICKED TO COME BACK 2 DAYS LATER AND BRING OUR SPOUSES TO THIS MEETING.DURING THAT 2 DAYS WE WERE ENCOURAGED TO CALL THE BBB AND LOOK UP ON THE INTERNET, CALL THE ATTORNEY GENERAL ETC. THEY WANTED TO MAKE SURE PEOPLE WHO BOUGHT INTO THE FRANCHISE WOULD BE SUPPORTED BY THE THEIR SPOUSES OR PARTNER. WE DID ALL THESE THINGS AND WENT BACK TO THE SEMINAR ON SUNDAY. WE WERE PICKED FOR OUR AREA AND ASKED WHICH LEVEL OR TIER WE WOULD LIKE TO BUY INTO BRONZE,SILVER,GOLD,PLATINUM.

WE BOUGHT INTO THE SILVER PLAN APROX:$39,000.00. WITH THIS YOU RECEIVED FLIERS, POSTERS,PROMOTIONAL PACKETS,200-30MIN GIVE AWAY PHONECARDS, 3000-100MIN LIFETIME RENEWABLE PHONE CARDS,VACATION VOUCHERS AS A GIVAWAY PROMOTIONAL, DISCOUNTS ON ORDERING SUPPLIES, BUSINESS CARDS THAT HAD OUR BUSINESS NAME ON THEM. AND A TRIP TO ORLANDO,FL FOR TRAINING FOR A WEEK. YOU GET THE PICTURE EVERYTHING THAT ONE WOULD GET IF YOU WOULD START UP A FRANCHISE. THEY NEVER REALLY SAID IT WAS THAT BUT EVERYTHING HAD THEIR NAME ON IT. AND YOU WOULD BUY EVERYTHING THROUGH THEM TO REORDER. WE BORROWED FROM MY 401K AND PAID OFF THE BUSINESS IN FULL 1 MONTH LATER. WE WENT TO CLASS AND IN THE MEANTIME WE SET UP OUR BUISNESS THROUGH THE STATE OFFICES AND PAID THE FEES FOR OUR AREA FOR A LLC OR PARTNERSHIP. FILED OUR BUSINESS NAME. ONESETPRICE WAS LIKE THE SUB-CONTRACTOR AND OUR BUSINESS NAME WAS THE ONE REGISTARED IN THE STATE WHERE WE LIVE.

WE WENT TO THE TRAINING CLASSES WITH PEOPLE FROM ALL OVER THE COUNTRY OUR CLASS HAD ABOUT 20 OR SO PEOPLE THERE WE MET OUR COACHES FACE TO FACE WENT THROUGH THE CORP OFFICES TALKED TO THE HEADS OF DIFFERENT SECTIONS OF THE BUSINESS, EXAMPLE: THE FINANACE OFFICE WHERE WE WOULD BE RECEIVING OUR RESIDUAL INCOME FROM AND PAYING FOR OUR REORDERS. THE ART DEPARTMENT THAT MADE PHONECARDS SPECIFIC TO BUSINESS WE HAD OR ORGANIZATIONS THAT WE SOLD TO. EXAMPLE WE SOLD CARDS TO A SCHOOL SPORTS TEAM AND THEY HAD THE MASCOT ON THE LIFETIME RENEWABLE CARDS AND THE NAME OF THE SCHOOL PRINTED ON THE PHONECARD. THEY COULD USE IT AS A RENEWABLE RESOURCE FOR FUNDRAISING. WE SOLD THE CARD FOR $10.00 THE SCHOOL RECEIVED $4.00 FROM THE SALE AND WE THE DISTRIBUTORS KEPT $6.00. THE CUSTOMER CARD WOULD COST ABOUT $2.00 TO HAVE MADE SO WE WOULD GET TO PROFIT $4.00 FROM EACH SALE. THEN WITH EACH CARD YOU SOLD IF THE PERSON BOUGHT MORE MINUTES YOU WOULD RECEIVE A SPECIFIC AMOUNT FOR HOW MANY MINUTES THEY RENEWED FOR. THAT'S WHERE THE RESIDUAL INCOME CAME IN.

WE THOUGHT THESE PHONECARDS WOULD BE GREAT BECAUSE WE COULD SEE A NICHE THAT OTHER PHONECARDS DON'T GET INVOLVED IN, SCHOOL,CHURCHS,ANY NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION THEY ARE ALWAYS LOOKING FOR NEW SOURCES OF MONEY. I HAVE VOLUNTEERED FOR 25 YEARS IN THE SCHOOLS HERE AND I COULD SEE A GREAT SOURCE OF INCOME FOR BOTH THE ORGANIZATION AND MY BUSINESS IF WE PARTNERED UP INTO THAT AREA. WE ALSO HAD A FEW MOM & POP BUSINESSES THAT WANTED THE $4.00 OF PROFIT FOR SOMETHING THAT SAT ON THEIR COUNTER AND WALKED AWAY WITH NO EFFORT TO SELL. THAT'S ONE PART OF THE BUSINESS THAT ONESETPRICE OFFERED TO US. THEN WE HAD A FEW CONTACTS THAT NEEDED T-1 CONNECTIONS FOR THEIR LARGE BUSINESSES ANOTHER AVE. THAT THEY OFFERED.

DO YOU SEE HOW MANY OPTIONS THAT THEY GAVE TO THEIR DISTRIBUTORS? WE ALL NEW WE HAD TO WORK TO SELL THE PRODUCT IT WAS NOT OFFERED TO US AS A GET RICH IN A MINUTE SCAM. WHAT THEY OFFERED LOOKED LEGIT AND ACTED LEGIT. BUT WHEN YOU NEEDED SUPPORT YOU WOULD GET EXCUSES AND THEN THE WHOLE THING MUST OF FALLEN APART A FEW MONTHS AFTER WE STARTED OUR BUSINESS, BECAUSE WE WERE RECEIVING EMAILS FOR THEM THAT THEY WERE IN THE MIDDLE OF A CLASS ACTION SUIT TO THE COMPANY THAT PRODUCED THE PINS #'S FOR THE PHONECARDS. EVEN THIS SOUNDED OKAY. BUT THEN NO-ONE WAS ABLE TO REACH THEIR COACHES AND NO MORE CARDS WERE SHIPPED TO ANYONE. WE KNOW BECAUSE WE KEPT IN CONTACT WITH SEVERAL PEOPLE FROM OUR CLASS THEY WERE RECEIVING THE SAME THING NO SERVICES FROM ONESETPRICE.

AN EXAMPLE THE CUSTOMER CARDS THAT I TALKED ABOUT WERE PRE-PAID BY THE DISTRIBUTOR (US) AND WE NEVER RECEIVED ANY CARDS. AND WE WERE NOT RECEIVING ANY RISDUALS FROM OUR CUSTOMERS WHEN THEY WOULD RENEW THEIR CARDS EVEN THOUGH THEY HAD PAID FOR THE RENEWALS. WE PAID AND PAID AND NEVER RECEIVED A DIME BACK BECAUSE THEY FOLDED UP THEIR SIDEWALKS AND MOVED ON TO A NEW STATE AND CHANGED THEIR NAME AND STARTED SELLING THE SAME THING TO NEW DISTRIBUTORS. THE THING THAT GETS ME THE MOST IS THAT THEY HAD A GOOD BUSINESS GOING AND COULD OF BEEN PULLING IN THE PROFITS FROM THEIR DISTRIBUTORS THAT WERE WORKING THEIR LEGIT BUSINESSES. MAYBE THEY WOULDN'T OF BEEN PULLING IN THE HUGE HAULS THAT THEY GET FROM SET-UP AND RUN. BUT THEY COULD BE HAVING STEADY INCOME FROM THE SEVERAL THOUSAND PEOPLE THAT BELIEVED THAT WE WERE ALL WORKING TOGETHER AS A TEAM. THAT'S HOW THEY PRESENT THEMSELVES LIKE A CHRISTIAN BASED TEAM OF PEOPLE WORKING FOR THE GREATER GOOD FOR ALL THEIR DISTRIBUTORS.

THE CON IS 2 FOLD...THE FEEL THAT YOU HAVE FOUND A SUPPORTING FAMILY INTERESTED HOME BASED BUSINESS VENTURE AND THAT THEY COVER THEIR BASES SO YOU CAN'T FIND OUT TO MUCH INFORMATION WHEN FIRST LOOKING INTO THEIR BUSINESS PRACTICES. THEN IT'S THE OLD DASH WITH THE CASH. IT'S NOT A FRANCHISE IT'S JUST A SCAM.
I HOPE I HAVE ANSWERED ALL YOUR QUESTIONS ABOUT WHAT I KNOW OF ONESETPRICE. AND I HOPE ALL THE PEOPLE INVOLVED WITH ONESETPRICE CORP. OFFICE GET WHAT ALL THEFTS DESERVE THE SAME HAPPEN TO THEM 7 FOLD QUOTTING WHAT THE PASTOR MIGHT OF SAID AT OUR TRAINING CLASS.

Can you explain how the onsetprice con worked? I'd like to understand how you were cheated.

Maria, can you explain how onsetprice worked?

There was another ripoff report that I read and made comments on, but the people never explained the con. They were all so busy talking about the players and about getting even.

Based on your writing, you seem to be a lot smarter than them. Hopefully, you can answer these question so that others can avoid the problems that you have.

Specifically, how did you first hear about this company? Next, what did they offer you? I know it was something about phone cards. But, what were you required to purchase? How much did you spend? Then, what, if anything, did you get in return?

If you were told to start your own business, how was it supposed to work?

And, last, what made you choose phone cards in the first place? As I explained on the other page, the world has plenty of people in the phone card business. I see 20 kinds in every little store. How could you expect to compete with something if there was already plenty of it in the marketplace?
