I was foolish enough to buy a gown from this company. It looked cute and the price was right. The minute I paid for it by credit card, my purchase was converted into rupees--the first indication that I just bought something from India.

I called Onlygowns.com to make sure. After 5 minutes of beating around the bush, I got a reluctant, 'yes we are.' Why did she hesitate to tell me? Because someone like me would not have bothered to buy from them. The dresses are from halfway around the world, cost of shipping doubles, and returns are nearly impossible.

Check out their website for yourself; the dresses, the models, the writing, all suggest this is an American or at least a western company. They clearly are marketing us. They want us to buy their stuff. Understandable. Then, their policy should match ours, and it doesn't. It's not 'customer satisfaction'; it's 'buyer beware'

This gown wasn't to my liking. I didn't feel sexy in it; I felt matronly. I returned it, cost me $45. I notified them it was coming. They said 'no refund' that they took my measurements (which they did) and they don't guarantee color. OK. They took the utmost care to send me what I asked for.

Definitely, read the refund policy. For them, when an order isn't 'fulfilled', that means you didn't get it. In their Shipping Information is one phrase that suggests where they are: "We ship from overseas." OnlyGowns.com misrepresents themselves in this way and that to me is false advertising. And they are keeping my money and the dress.
