Onrebate alias onripoff, never paid up or returned emails / calls ripoff Internet
In early November 2006 I purchased a motherboard combo from Tigerdirect.com. I was supposed to receive a rebate from onrebate.com for $20. I filled out the information on their website, downloaded the info, filled it out and sent in the UPC code.
About a month later I received and email stating that there was a problem with my submission. They claimed it was for a CPU of incorrect speed and the barcode did not match. Well, I got all the info from Tigerdirect so it must be right, wrong!
I was told in the email to RESUBMIT. Well, that would be difficult since they now have my barcode. So I decided to call, waited the hour or so on hold, and explained my problem. I was told I should have copied the barcode. Now, their own documentaion claims the don't accept copies and I told them so. Their response was "only on submissions". When asked where that caveat was on the website I was told that it was not. So I asked to speak to a supervisor who of course never came to the phone so I left a number.
It has been another month now, several emails and still no response of any kind. I have been ripped off by onrebate.com and will NEVER do business with Tigerdirect.com again for sending me to this sham of a company.
Additionally, I am now on my 3rd non-working motherboard and Biostar, the manufacturer, wants to send me a 4th. I'm out the shipping and the rebate at this point. Am I going to send in the 3rd board for a 4th. I think not. It may be sledge hammer time for this whole ordeal and just call it a total loss.
