OnRebate.com Seven months and still no rebate check! Miami Florida

In early July 2006 I ordered a Hanns 19-in. LCD monitor from TigerDirect.com. Monitor arrived within a week and I started the rebate process with OnRebate. Surprise, surprise. Rebate was accepted on July 26, no problems. Last step - "Payment Sent." It is now SEVEN months later and still no check.

I have sent e-mails to OnRebate. No response. I have called their number listed on the rebate form and you can not get through to a person - just pre-recorded information which is of no use.

Maybe this report will get a response from OnRebate. If not, the next step is the BBB of the Miami area and the FL Attorney General.

I have learned my lesson. No matter how great the deal from TigerDirect may seem, it just simply isn't worth the aggravation.

The following are actions that I took which may or may not have helped:

Filed complaint with Florida Attorney General - suggested hiring Florida lawyer.

Filed complaint with FL Dept. of Agriculture & Consumer Services - they asked OnRebate to respond to allegations - never heard back about outcome.

Filed complaint with FTC - does not resolve individual complaints - does not appear they consider rebate scams important enough for FTC action.

E-mailed Bill Gollan (bill.gollan@onrebate.com), CEO of OnRebate, who e-mailed Carlos the Comptroller to put me back in system. I was never aware I was out of system.

Have check in hand. Hope it doesn't bounce.
