I purchased a computer monitor in Oct 2005 for $248.99 with a $50 rebate from TigerDirect.com. I still have not received the rebate. I have followed their procedures and have still not received a response from OnRebate.com, the company that processes the rebate. I waited until after they said to wait to and then began submitting complaints via their website.

I have received several emails stating that I will receive a response within 72 hours (with no response) and have also tried their number repeatedly, but no one ever answers, I just sit on hold for a half hour then hang up.

This is very frustrating and I believe they stole my money and now there's nothing I can do to get it back.

My response from the BBB:

RE: #23042323 - Onrebate.com

Dear Graber:

Thank you for contacting the Better Business Bureau concerning the dispute you are having with the above named company. We have forwarded your complaint to the company for their comments and/or action. You will be informed of the outcome of this matter. **However, we must advise you that the prognosis for a favorable resolution of your issue is not good.

This company has already "earned" an "unsatisfactory" business reliability report with the BBB. It is, therefore, doubtful that they will respond to us, or to you, concerning this matter. Nevertheless, we will make our best effort to help mediate a solution.**

The Better Business Bureau receives more than 600 requests for assistance daily. Most are from persons requesting pre-purchase information about companies they are considering doing business with. While we do not recommend or endorse any product, service, or company, a "satisfactory" BBB report means, at least, that the company has not ignored complaints. Moreover, some of our member companies have pledged to mediate or arbitrate any consumer complaints brought to their attention.

Please remember to use our services before doing business with any company in Southeast Florida and the Caribbean. If the company is outside of our service area, check the BBB national website at www.bbb.org. In the meantime, if you do hear from this company, please let us know.

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember. The BBB membership is not earned, it's paid for!
