Onrebate working With Tigerdirect ripoff dishonest fraudulent rebate scam Internet
I purchased an MP3 player from Tigerdirect.com. It took a week and four attempts to input my rebate information. I then called for confirmation and sent in all of my paperwork by mail. I heard nothing for two months, called onrebate.com, and was told to resubmit. I did so. I waited two months and called onrebate.com. I was told the check was going out in five days. I waited, called, was told the check was coming a total of five more times.
I wrote to the president, Bill Gollan, and heard nothing. I called in late January and asked to speak with a supervisor (for the eighth time) and was told "Nikki" was not available but would call me back in an hour. Three times I never got a call back. I called on February 28 (for a total of thirteen calls) and was told that their computers were down.
This is clearly a scam. Do not, under any circumstances, use onrebate.com. And do not use Tigerdirect.com because virtually all of their products come with rebates. If you cannot redeem the rebate then their products are far more expensive than the competition.
