Be careful with this company, Ontario Home Services and Home Trust Company.

I was shocked to find out for some reason they were able to issue a contract to my tenant without my knowledge and without my autorization and without my signature. Somehow they conviced my tenant that they won't pay anything and nothing will be added in their Enbridge bill.

Come to the point that I have to sell my house, I found out through my lawyer tha they managed to put a lien to my property title with my name.  I asked them for a proof of contract both from Ontario Home Services and Home Trust Company and they couldn't produce it nor coud not send me one.

The sad part is I have to close the selling of my house in 5 days and I have no choice but to deal with the lien that they put on my property title.  I did not authorize this liean and I did not sign any contract with them.  I spoke to my tenant they even told them that they were told by door to door agent that they will not pay anything.  My tenant told them they are only renters but based from their story, it seems they got harrased and these companies just ask for the name of the landlord which my tenant gave them.  So somehow they were able to issue a contract or some sort of binding and for some unknown reason managed to register a lien against my property.  Becareful homeowners especially landlords that have tenants. 

I am definitely going through this now and I will make sure I will seek a lawyer's advice.  This is so absurd.  They charged $12000 lien against my property title for an AC unit and Hepa filter???? Come one, wow, that's got to be a pure scam right there.  It doesn't cost much to install an AC let alone a filter especially for a 1000 sqf house.  Get real, stop scamming people.
