Well where should I start.  I worked for this company for about 4 months.  The most destitute times of my life!!! I was completely brainwashed from "boss" Chris Westphal and "Mrs. Boss" Iris. When I had first replied to the ad "Must enjoy money, music and fun! 18-25 guys/gals needed" I was stoked, I mean this was exactly what I was looking for.

Little did I know that the next four months of my life I would completely DESTROY my credit, ruin my car, and partically have my whole family turn against me.  Not to mention, give me a criminal record for "trespassing".  I know I was stupid, but the reason that I am writing this is to help any other unsuspecting person out to avoid making the same mistake that I have.

When I called I was told to come in and interview immeditely, so I did.  When I arrived, I was greeted by a smiling, energetic girl who gave a clipboard with a "Get Aquainted Sheet" attached.  I filled out the information and STUPIDLY gave them my S.S.N. She asked me stupid questions the whole time just trying to swade me from realizing the truth about this company.

There was music playing and other people waiting to be seen. It was a very small office and looked very unprofessional to me but I figured it was a temp agency or something.  I was unsure about what they did so I decided to ask.  But the girl at the desk danced around the question, saying "that will be explained to you in the interview".  I thought allright I guess, and continued to wait. Then a goofy looking man with huge gaged out ears, a bald head, and a nice shirt and pants, named Chris came out and said, "I'll be with you in a minute but just to let you know we're not Amway, Cutco, or Kirby" and went around the corner.

Then a lady named Iris came back and got me and another girl.  She went through the interview, also very unprofessional and then told the girl when to call back.  She kept me behind and said, "I would like you to come back for a 2nd interview for management".  I was thrilled.  I really believed her so I quit my other job (very stupid) and came back for the second interview. There were about 20 of us for a "group-interview". We wrote down a list of available cities. Chris told us the company was going through a $5 million dollar expansion and were opening 25 new branch operations in the tri-state area and 125 new branch operations in the continental US. He said if we were accepted it would be a 60-90 day training , that the average new branch manager makes $52,000 a year. Just boasting on an on about the fame and fortune and would never give me a direct answer to what this whole corporation was HUGE RED FLAG.

Then on orientation (Monday) Chirs told jokes and went on and on about mangement and about Doug Zirbel and Larry Haun and these guys that are making big $$$ while they have kids and other people go do their dirty work. he showed his title to his Nissan 350Z and the Mercedes was parked outside.  Iris owned a black Audi. They said that I would make $250-$325 a week!!!BULL S^%$!!!  But failed to tell me that I was working on strickly commission and that I would be selling bootleg cologne and perfume on the streets!!!  Chris is definitely a smooth talker and is very straight faced.  He convinced me that I can do this.  Iris doesnt say much, she just hides in the back office prolly fighting with her conscious, if she even has one.

Long story short, I worked my f*****g a** OFF for Chris and Iris for four months and made alomost NOTHING!!! Dont get me wrong I made commission but the most money I ever made in a week was about $150 bucks some days I would make absolutly NOTHING!.  I would work from sunup to sundown and then some. Litterally until 3 in the morning.  I went on what they call "fun cars", where you get 4-5 people and leave to Pueblo, Colorado Springs, Ft. Collins pretty much anywhere 45-hour away and stayed for the weekend.   Or a "satellight" whch is a road trip out of state for a week.

This was fun but the constant harassing, telling me im a piece of sh*t, eating babyfood, and getting eggs droped on my head for bad production was enough! Not to mention me sleeping couch to couch, not eating but a taco some days, paying for peoples gas to take us places, and having other people ask me for money because they didnt have any either.  The straw that broke the cammels back was when I was ticketed and later arrested for "trespassing" because I didn't have a license to be selling.

I am still very bitter about this experiance and one thing that they will tell you is they have a "savings" account set up for you when you get your office.  I still have yet to receive even a penny from the so-called $3000 that they have saved for me.  If you want to learn how to be a con artist and scam a bunch of people to help you get rich this is the job for you.  But please keep in mind, you will be very sorry and THIS IS NOTHING BUT A PYRAMID SCHEME!!! You work hard so you can make other people rich.  I hope that this helps everybody out and hopefully people will see the red flags before its too late.

First off, what kind of a question is "So then was the consumer then?"

Secondly you dumbsh*t, I'll spell it our for you. The court ruled your contracts are unenforceable because they violate the Consumer Protection Act. If your contracts are unenforceable then your promoting owner, your own promotions or ANY of your independent contractors can blow out with all your merch or money and you won't be able to do sh*t about it! Where will Scentura be for you then Stupid!?

So then was the consumer then?  But bottom line is no one answers our questions.  I provide people a oppertunity, the same one that was offered me.  I took advantage of it and their will be others that do as well in future.  I may get frustrated with blow-outs but I still always try to wish em' best of luck.  And best of luck to you mystery rebuttal person.

The court ruled that your contracts violate the Consumer Protection Act. When courts give a ruling it's the law!

You can't be honest with anyone so you answer questions with questions and insult people. You're pathetic!

It's just the same post over and over come up with something else, PLEASE.  Most of us owners can't understand the language, well speaking for myself anyways I can't.  But I know Bullsh*t when I see it.  And you're covered in it.  Open you eyes just on this website there are several BS complaints about at least 10 offices in the last few weeks.  My turn for question time.  If none of this is real and none of it works then how are at least 10 offices are mentioned with none of them being in the same location or having the same managers?  It must be working for some of us.  But best wishes for all you blow-outs and happy thanksgiving and happy holidays.  I'm going on vacation this week so it may be a while before I'm back.

No Scentura Owner thats EVER posted on this site has given straight answers regarding; the 2001 Illinois Appellate Court Ruling that a contract between Scentura and a distributor was part of a Pyramid Sales scheme, violated the law and was unenforceable. http://www.state.il.us/court/Opinions/AppellateCourt/2001/2ndDistrict/September/Html/2000964.htm

To be more specific the contract violated the Consumer Protection Act.

I understand that the language in the courts ruling might be too complex for you brainwashed scam-artists to comprehend but not even ONE of you jerk-offs can explain the courts ruling; not Rob Zuckert, not Earley Gaynor, not Papa Perfume, nor Tom from Texas; F**k it I bet even Larry Hahn wouldnt give us a straight answer! Can one of you explain or rebut the courts ruling without resorting to name calling, or saying you dont believe it or some other bulls**t answer?!

Four months or four days??

I don't buy that anyone was around for four months and didn't make a lot more money then $150 in one week.  I went through the training over 6 years ago and then I made $400 plus almost every week after my first 3 weeks.  I was a slow starter.  Today I could make over $35,000 a year just selling the product.  More will probably believe the negative then the positive because "one bad apple ruins the bunch" but I think you were there less then three weeks.  But at least the kid is just venting.  But I do wonder if there are just a few guys cause  alot of them use the term "Red Flag"  But it must have worked for chris and Iris if they have 350Z, Benz, and a Audi between the two of them.  Something was working well.  And last I checked Chris was a Regional manager which means he's given others the same oppertunity.  Good work Chris
