I'd never heard of this one, but this shadowy individual is actually soliciting $125 payments (plus an extra 3% for Paypal) as a "reviewing fee" for people hoping to be hired as interns in a New York state (not city) gallery that is supposed to be opening soon. Here's what they wrote:

We are a new concept in galleries with several locations coming all over Urban Centers and Revitalization Districts in New York State, it is a  chance of a lifetime to have a New York Gallery on your resume, and often the only option for artists who wish to have a career (you are NOT taken seriously without it)

Please apply at opengalleryconcept2@gmail.com for further information and instructions. We have a nominal review fee, unfortunately discounts are no longer available due to an overwhelming response. Also, please remember to add 3% for Paypal fees, or your application will not be processed.

Hope you appreciate this opportunity as it's extremely hyper competitive out there... You're Welcome!!!

D.H. writes, "Open Gallery Concepts got me started on a very lucrative and critically acclaimed art career, and I
decided to stay in New York! Now even my small paintings go for five figures. It's amazing what kind of doors can open when you have a prestigious New York Gallery on your resume -- even if they don't directly represent your work."

Perhaps this can be your story, applications are extremely competitive -- apply today!!!

[When people on the Arts forum expressed skepticism about this alleged opportunity, they wrote this:]

Everything you say is untrue, why are you trying to harm a business that has done so much for artist's careers?

Please cease and desist with your false and actionable statements, and publish a formal retraction, otherwise dire consequences may ensue.

Have a nice Day!!
