.

In the general practice of Optometry, the assumption of the doctor and the representation he makes to the client is that if each eye is individually erxamined and corrected to the highest degree possible, then the resulting binocular vision will be not only acceptable, but the BEST that it can be.

.

THIS is patently FALSE in a very, VERY large proportion of cases  ! . And THAT hurts if one is a victim !

.

The prevailing methods result in different image sizes being perceived as well as a number of other negative perceptions regarding static or dynamic images. . In a word, the brain is left to sort it out -- with resulting eye strain, headaches, image confusion, etc. . The presence of differing image sizes is technically known as "Aniseikonia". . It frequently occurs as the result of cataract operations.

.

There are solutions -- Special proprietary optical analysis and lens generation software available from Canada and from The Netherlands. . The corresponding costs I have not been able so far to determine.

.

I have no commercial connection to any optical software. . I am, however, a victim of Aniseikonia.
