Complaint Review: Optimum Platinium

After I had filled out a application for a "platnium credit card", I had received an email stating that I had just signed up for a merchandise card that can only be used a website and that a $179.95 would be taken out of my bank account. I looked at the email to contact the company to cancel what I had signed up for; there was no contact information.

I had to wait until the payment went through my bank in order to find a number attached with the payment of 1-888-407-9470. That number is for Amerinet, who takes the money out of peoples accounts for 'optimum plantium'. Amerinet then gave me a number of 704-525-3880 and stated the companies name was "Insight Marketing" and they would be able handle reversing the payment. When I contacted that number, I had gotten another name of the company of "Site Supply Inc.". When I spoke with the supervisor, she had told me the companies name was Optimum Platnium. When I explained the situation she stated that the fee of $179.95 would not be reversed because it was past the time period that was listed on the terms and conditions, even though there was not a terms and conditions on the website I was on.

Then she proceeded to tell me I should have found a way to contact them before the time period was up. When I asked her what the time period was, she would not answer. Finally, I had gotten her to tell me that she would contact her general manager, Steve Distaola, that might agree to reverse $90 of the $179.95 Fee. However, that was only after I had told her I was going to contact a lawyer, Attorney General, Better Business Bureua and my parents neighbor who own the local ABC network.
