Complaint Review: Option One

Be informed that Option One has continued to be a problem because not enough people are pulling together. Not only here in Mississippi, but all over the US. This company is a subsidiary of H&R Block in case you didn't know.

Throughout Mississippi and especially here on the coast, Option One has basically used the same law firm to do all the foreclosures. I would be interested in hearing from people in other states concerning this.

The local newspaper has reported on all the scary tactics Option One and other mortgage companies have used to ruin people's lives!

Even today, 6 Dec 2004, there is very good coverage in the "USA Today" paper on the FRONT page under "More U.S. home buyers fall prey to predatory lenders". I suggest you get a copy and read it. Local paper has promised to investigate this problem and report in depth soon.

Option One has been officially reported to the Mississippi Attorney General and an agency in Washington, DC.

Reports from this Web site were faxed to an agency in Washington, DC. They were very surprised that this company has been foreclosing, stalling, being rude, failing to accept payments, using delaying tactics which cause people to get further behind, etc. That's because no one is taking the time to report Option One and any other mortgage company engaged in such tactics.

For those who keep asking, "What do I do?", you definitely need to file your complaints with your state's AG. E-mail me for the government agency contact information. They will be glad to hear from you.

Complaints to the Better Business Bureau are fine, but in effective as far as litigation goes. But, your complaints to them will add up against these companies.

Keep your eye on this site for Option One. Good news should be forthcoming about doing something about this company and others like it.
