Complaint Review: Oral Pathology Associates Inc.

Oral Pathology Associates, Inc. overcharged me for a biopsy that was sent to them by my dentist.  The pathology charges were more than my oral surgery charges.  I had to have the same test done a few weeks later and it was performed in the Pathology Department of a major medical center and it was even more extensive.

Oral Pathology Associates, Inc. charged me more than the double what the hospital charged.  They did not want to bill my secondary insurance or send an itemized bill as requested. Their office staff was rude, uncooperative and even threatened me.

This company uses dentists as their agents and then dentists get kickbacks for utilizing them.  All this is very unfair to the patient because you are told by your dentist your insurance will probably cover it and then you get this horrific bill.  The dentist also has you sign a waiver requested by the lab stating you will be totally responsible for the lab bill.

Their procedures are deceptive, the billing is unfair and the patient is the one left feeling deceived and taken.

Be sure to ask your dentist what lab he/she uses.  Don't sign the waiver and move on to another more reputable place.  The practices of ths institution must be stopped!!!
