It seemed really sketchy to me because I'm a college student who needs a job to make money, not to lose it. The agents name was Tipu. He kept saying that i had to pay it because "they don't know me" and because " I might not show up". It got me worried because before I went to that interview yesterday, I read bad reports of the photographer never showing up after other models had unfortunately fallen into their trap and paid the money. I said I'd think about it but they are a scam.

Orange models called me back the day I applied and coincidentally it was Friday the 13th okay people. Red flags already. I was so excited and set up an interview for a few days from then. I traveled into toronto from mississauga and walked half an hour to their location. When I met with the agent he said his name was Tipu. He was really excited to meet me and honestly it was like five minutes into the interview when he said that the agency was really interested in working with me. The interview only lasted maybe 20 minutes and the photos I saw of other models looked really unprofessional and outdated. It was weird. The office looked nice but I got a sketchy feeling about it all. Tipu then near the end of it he said that they would love to have a photoshoot with me this Saturday and when I asked if he photographer was available another day he said no. He said I would have to pay $500 and something dollars for the shoot and that was "the only fee id ever pay with them". Then he was like "you can pay today right now" and when I asked again how much it was he changed the number to $687! For what???? I asked him why and he kept saying how they don't know me and how I may not show up and whatever. But I'm sorry I shouldn't have to pay thay much money for a photoshoot I have no information on whatsoever. He didn't even tell me the photographers name, only that his studio was near Canada's wonderland. And when I said that it was a lot of money tipu sounded really impatient and raised his voice at me saying "well these things cost money!". I'm a fashion design student sp I 100% understand the costs of a photoshoot but paying that much with no information seems sketchy. He gave me no reasons why. I took the contract home and re-read it over. I didn't sign or pay anything because I had a bad feeling about it all. I was angry when I left their because I honestly thought this may be a great chance for me but it was the opposite. He became unprofessional really quick and made me uncomfortable. It was a complete waste of time. The lady who called and emailed me about the interview was named Emily. The "main agent" who met with me was named tipu. DON'T go with this agency. They just want to take money from young, unsuspecting people who just want a chance to succeed in modeling/acting. Go with any agency but this one. I promise you that if you go for an interview that you'll just be wasting your time. Orange model management inc is a MAJOR SCAM! Don't trust them. If they contact you, don't respond. Just walk away.
