This problem began in May, 2004 when I asked Qwest to change my private phone number to a new unlisted one. At the time I wasn't too concerned when Qwest found an error in the first number and gave me a different number. However, I was billed for directory assistance for the phone number I never even had from Teleseven LLC (www.oanweb.com). It was billed and connected to the phone number Qwest gave me to replace it. On the same Qwest statement, I was billed from ESBI for set up fees and enhanced services from Orbit Telecom that I never ordered. When I contacted OAN and ESBI to dispute these charges they both said they found neither me nor my phone number in their systems. To this day I am still getting fraudulent charges that I have refused to pay to Qwest.

Because I am fed up with getting threatening and past due notices for these charges (don't forget the late fees) I set up a conference call between ESBI, a Qwest supervisor, and myself. ESBI told Qwest I was not in their system and could not explain why the charges appear on my phone bill for OrbitTelecom services. Qwest claims billing has nothing to do with them but Qwest seems to be the culprit here. How else did these questionable companies that conveniently bill me through Qwest get my private and personal information attached to a private phone number unless Qwest gave it to them?

Especially on a phone number I never even had. Every now and then, unethical entities who think all consumers are stupid mess with the wrong people (like me). With the information I found on this web site today it is time to get the Utah State Attorney General to investigate this matter. And I will be relentless until it is resolved and doesn't happen again to anybody.
