I am very unhappy with cheaptickets.com and orbitz.com.  How could companies get away with a "bait and switch" operation like this?  Offering flights for one price and then increasing the fares after I have entered my credit card information!

Here's what happened: I searched for flights, chose the result I wanted, entered my information, and at the last step was informed that the price for the tickets went up.  I started the process all over again, thinking this was a glitch and it happened again!  What kind of scam is this? 

I called customer service, asking that they would either honor the price that they quoted me or please give me a voucher or promo code for a discount on my next flight--anything. The customer service rep said that not only could she honor the original flight, but that she would have to charge me an additional fee for booking over the phone.  This is ridiculous!

AND,
I tried to book with Orbitz and then CheapTickets and got the exact same customer service rep on the phone!  When I confronted her on this, she got flustered but would neither admit to or deny my accusation (in the friendliest of Indian call center voices, of course). What is going on?  If they're both the same company, what's with the deception?
